Sovata is simply amazing, very clean and nice mountain resort where you can enjoy nice walks in te forest around the lake and you can swim in Ursu lake as well. The salty water is good for the bones and joints. I was eating in few places but the best was restaurant Club Dracula. lovely location close to the lake with a spectacular view. I absolutely loved the food, the ambiance, the location and the service. the food was incredibly tasty and fresh. The restaurant waiters were very friendly and not pushy at all. I would definitely recommend Sovata for foreigners as they have to see the beauty of Romania and they need to try the Romanian food like sarmale, mamaliga, mici, papanasi, steak, pastrav and the famous soups. We never expected the resort to be this nice, the whole town is renovated and there are many activities to fill up you're time. Just to name a few: Mocanita Sovata - a 2h ride on a steam train, the Praid salt mine that you can visit and there are a lot of trails around the forest, one that even has a Bell Vedere tower built .BadarauNetherlands - 8.0Scored 8.0

It’s a great destination!Bear Lake was great !If you have small children and they splash a bit ,the elderly will complain and constantly roll their eyes at the kids so expect that .Other than that our stay there was great!

Rather good location, parking available (you still need a car to reach the touristic center of Sovata). There is an outdoor kids park nearby, quite large. There are some shops in the same building. Host is communicative, available via phone/WhatsApp. We ended up extending out stay with just one phone call. Decent Wifi speeds, no issues there. Stayed during a winter month, there is a dedicated central heating for apartment, so it was cozy and warm.

The Restaurant (both breakfast and dinner) was diversified enough that one is not bored after one week of eating there. The water in all pools was clean. The pool for small kids is very good even for very small kids. The personnel in all area of the hotel (reception, cleaning, restaurant, SPA, mud, massage) is very friendly and professional. The hotel paid parking has plenty of places. In the summer, the accommodation includes free access to Lacul Ursu.

The room was well lit during the day while the curtains blocked the sunlight well enough in the mornings (if you want to be lazy like me). The heated floors keep the room perfectly warm throughout the whole day and the bathroom is spacious sufficiently soundproofed.
