The whole space is very clean. Certainly get to the main hall early in the morning for a calm beginning to observing the monks' morning sutras. They will hold luggage pre and post check in/out, so explore the town of Koya San. The nearby temples and especially the cemetery warrant about 1 hour each to fully experience them. The Yukata traditional loungewear they provide may (and is encouraged to) be worn everywhere except morning prayers. The onsen within the building is open after dinner until ~9pm. Check it out. Make sure to wash yourself within the onsen room before entering. Lastly, read the information they provide to you the day before your check in so that you are prepared and respectful.

The dinner and breakfast were delicious (if you stay more than one night, note that you'll eat the same dinner and breakfast) The room and all the temple was super clean and calm. It was a great place to stay! I really love the ceremonies that I could witness, meditation in the evening, morning ceremony and goma ceremony (fire ceremony). The one thing I was surprised by is that the showers are "Onsen Showers" so it's in a commun room, with little stools where you can clean yourself before entering the bath. Not a negative point, just something I wasn't expecting. Thanks to all the staff there for a wonderful stay!

The room was lovely and the heater in the room worked very well. We got a window view of the street as it was snowing, so it felt magical. Very close to the cemetery.
