El Biwako Hanakaido ofrece baños de aguas termales al aire libre y cubiertos, 3 sitios para comer y habitaciones con balcón y vistas al lago Biwako. We stayed in a room with a private mineral bath. The room was as large as an apartment, with its own foyer, and areas that could be contained by beautiful screen doors. We loved the space, the views and the wonderful service, but especially the food and the ritual of having our own private dining space, which evidently goes with the ‘special’ rooms. This is a great place to unwind, leaving the rest of the world behind! Staff were beyond excellent! If the canal boat is running its a great excursion to take. Food was just superb.

El Honmachi Juku ofrece alojamiento en Hikone y WiFi gratuita en todas las zonas. El establecimiento cuenta con un salón compartido. The host Natsuhara-san really went above and beyond for me, he is very kind. The cleaning ladies who come in the morning are also very kind and we did our best to communicate through the language barrier. Overall I had a great time! It's very close to Hikone Castle and in the historical town area so it's easy to see the attractions.

El Yumotokan Hotel dispone de habitaciones confortables de estilo japonés, con vistas al lago Biwa. Desayuno y cena excelentes. El hotel muy recomendable.

El Ebisusou es un alojamiento de 2 estrellas situado en Takashima. Este ryokan de 2 estrellas ofrece habitaciones con aire acondicionado, baño compartido y wifi gratis. The place is a little bit odd yes, but it’s a wonderful example of a traditional Japanese hospitality (even if the building doesn’t look traditional… but 70s) the hot bath was one of the best I ever had in Japan and the food was incredible. And I paid only 8250 yen for a half course stay (1 person). And the owner did his best to explain everything (with a digital language translator).

El Marumo Ryokan ofrece alojamiento en Takashima. Este ryokan de 1 estrella cuenta con jardín y habitaciones con aire acondicionado, conexión de wifi gratis y baño compartido. Breakfast was great, it had a Japanese style public bath, location is close enough to a JR station.

El Kiyotaki Ryokan, situado en Hikone, a 20 minutos a pie del castillo Hikone, tesoro nacional, ofrece alojamientos de estilo japonés, cocina casera japonesa y conexión wifi gratis. This was probably the best accommodation I had so far. It is true when they say - the further you go from the big cities, the more sympathetic and kind people you meet. I was very skeptical about my stay in the ryokan, as the pictures were not that promising and the price was quite low. As well as the city of Hikone is not that big (probably it is a small town area). But when I came in the evening after a full-day trip, I saw a very well made accommodation, exceptionally clean and a host, who met me with a very warm greeting! He showed me all of the facilities and we had a nice chat. I should admit - it is very important when you are coming late and plus to that you are alone. Later he offered me a dinner and I was more then amazed by how tasty and big it was for that price! I had 5 or more dishes (do not remember exactly as there were a lot), prepared on a beautiful tableware. I really felt like I was home. The lobby area was probably repaired - as it has nothing similar with the photos from the booking.com. Now it has a very clean and light colored design. It was visible from the first sight, that the host treats the hotel as if it was his own house, greeting everyone with open arms and heart. I would dream to meet such hosts in Kyoto, Osaka and other big cities. But so far, I met the best host in Hikone town. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the host-just found his name now. El hotel Yuzanso, situado a solo 5 minutos en auto de la estación de Onsen JR Ogoto, ofrece servicio de transfer gratuito y habitaciones de estilo japonés con baño termal privado al aire libre y... Good service from the friendly staff. Food and private onsen were great too.
