The location was perfect with many shops in walking distance. The proprietor was very kind. The 3 breakfasts we got were different each day, authentic, and delicious. Room was cleaned everyday while we were out.

Unzen Kyushu Hotel is a minute's walk from Unzen Jigoku and an 18-minute walk from Unzen National Park. The ryokan features luggage storage space. Great service, food and location.

Nisshokan Bettei Koyotei is located in the Nagasaki Area, a 10-minute drive from Nagasaki Peace Park. Featuring views of the beautiful Nagasaki, it offers a public bath and free parking. This ryokan is about as fancy as you can get. It is not in town and required a taxi or shuttle to get there; fortunately they provide a free shuttle but it's on a schedule. Because it's on a hill above the city, it's peaceful and the view is fantastic. The service was friendly and helpful and they spoke English. Signs and information were in English. The room rate included meals for which this ryokan is well known. The meals were exquisite, traditional food artistically prepared. We didn't try the public bath, but it looked clean and was empty. In the waiting area for the public bath, there were massage chairs and foot massage machines that were wonderful after a day of walking around the city. The room had a soaking tub we enjoyed. We felt pampered.

Nagasaki Hotel Seifu provides Japanese-style and Western rooms with sweeping bay and city views. It features indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, karaoke rooms and free Wi-Fi at the lobby. I loved the location. The view from the open-air bath is almost as good as from Mount Inasayama. The hotel is about 3 km from Nagasaki Station, but we took a taxi, which was very reasonably priced. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of food. Finally, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there again when I'm in Nagasaki.

The room was huge and they provided a range of amenities. The bathroom was clean and well kept, and a fridge and kettle were provided in the room (a microwave was available outside the room). The coffee provided in the room was really nice! Location-wise it was close to transport and amenities as well as being easy to find.
