Situated in Aso, 42 km from Kumamoto Castle, Syukubo Aso features accommodation with a public bath. It’s very comfortable with original ryokan atmosphere. Food was excellence both dinner and breakfast. You need car to get there but it’s worth it.

Built in 1722, Okyakuya is situated in the historical district of Kurokawa Onsen district. Located only 100 metres from Kurokawa Onsen, Free WiFi is provided and private parking is available on site. Clean, tasty food, beautiful onsen, this place is a real gem! Looking forward to visit again!

Minshuku Asogen, a property with a garden, is situated in Aso, 30 km from Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto, 38 km from Kumamoto Castle, as well as 38 km from Suizenji Park. We love Asogen, specially the meals we had for dinner and breakfast the morning after. The food quality was beyond our expectation for the price we paid for half-board. The room was nice and clean with a simple Japanese touch. The lighting in the cubical made the toilet look like an art installation! We will be happy to stay at Asogen again anytime!

Kurokawa Onsen Yama no Yado Shinmeikan features 5 hot-spring baths, including a 30-metre long cave bath. Authentic Japanese ryokan experience - we loved it !

Situated along Tanohara River and surrounded by tranquil nature in Kurokawa Onsen hot spring area, Oku no Yu Ryokan offers charming Japanese-style accommodation and various hot spring baths. Great location amidst the mountains of kumamoto prefecture, with the river it makes for a beautiful scenery. The onsens are great and there is even a swimming pool if you just want to exercise. Food is good, it’s nice to experience a traditional diner and breakfast.

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. Best meal service I ever had. 板橋-Chan was so helpful even she is not fluent in English. She even took care of my mum who has allergy.

This was the first time my wife and I visited an onsen ryokan and we were completely blown away! The facility is settled in the middle of nature in complete serenity. You instantly notice great attention to the tiniest detail in how the place is kept and managed. We took the half board option with the private hot bath and we loved every bit of it. The water was at the right temperature (pretty hot) and the food was absolutely amazing. A big thanks again to all the staff, the service received was on a level that I had never seen yet in my life and we travel quite a lot..

Ryokan Wakaba tarjoaa japanilaistyylistä majoitusta rauhallisella vuoristoalueella. Majoituspaikan tilavat kuumalähdekylvyt sisällä ja ulkona ovat vehreän luonnon ympäröimiä. I was guest of this Ryokan in early December and it was like living in a dream. The town is enchanting, the Ryokan is absolutely splendid and well kept, the breakfast and the dinner were an amazing experience and the personnel was kind and professional (especialy Quynh who was superkind and made my experience even more memorable). My room was wonderful, the onsen very beatiful
