Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. It is a Japanese style inn with retro vibes. Their private onsen's water comes from the very hot spring source of Kusatsu and therefore you can experience the hot spring water without going to the public baths if you are shy. We mostly used them at night when the town's baths are closed since the inn's are 24/7 open. I would recommend to book a japanese style room as it has it's tatami and according decoration and together with the inn's yukata (there is an opt for a colorful one and geta to rent) it gives a more japanese experience. We liked that the inn had slippers for going outside which was convenient as the whole town is full with onsens (even ones that are only for feet) and therefore is more convenient to move in slippers. They have a game area with a lot of retro game (even arcade games) and Nintendo SFC System Video Game Console in the rooms. It may not be in the centre of the town (around 10 min walk for either yubatake or Sainokawara Park and open onsen) but is very close to it and also they offer pick up/drop off from the bus terminal. Staff were very friendly and helped with everything we needed. In our next visit to Kusatsu we are definitely staying there!

Järvevaate ja aiaga Chuzenji Pension pakub majutust suurepärases asukohas Nikkos, lühikese jalutuskäigu kaugusel Kegoni joast, Chuzenji järvest ja Chuzenji templist. Super friendly and helpful staff, everyone can speak English. Food is top-notch. The view from the room is magnificent.

Oyado Yukizumi asub Gunma piirkonnas Kusatsus. Kohapeal on tasuta WiFi-ühendus ja tasuta eraparkla. Külalised saavad kasutada kuumaveeallikat. Everything was good. The Staff, Location, the room, the onsen, breakfast...all are wonderful. I have problem with my heavy luggage but the nice young female staff helped me. The hotel is right across Kusatsu bus terminal (less then 1 minute walk), and there is a 2-minutes-walk shortcut to Yubatake. There is a convenience store right in front and a restaurant next door. There is no shower or bathtub in the toilet in guest-room. But who needs those when you have an onsen with showering area.

Set in Takasaki, 28 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park, Ryutakuzenji 宿坊 offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a bar. Excellent room with comfortable blankets which were perfect for the winter cold. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, giving great advice regarding transport and offering a shuttle service for 1500 yen per person for both ways. The location is a little out the way, but you'll probably be staying here for the tranquility rather than what it offers nearby. In terms of the food, both the dinner and breakfast were great. The dinner offered sukiraki beef with tofu and vegetable tempura. There was plenty to eat and enough for a big eater like myself to feel full. Breakfast was similarly well made with enough to feel like lunch should be a bit later then usual. There was also complimentary snacks, tea, coffee as well as a small setup with a mini PS1 and famicom. We didn't end up using that, but it was nice that it was there. The area around is quiet, with a bit more time I think the rental bikes would have allowed us to go further afield but its winter and it's cold. We walked about around the area, had some really nice views of takasaki especially in the evening as the lights of the city come on. Beds provided were exceptional. The duvet cover was smooth on the skin and the duvet was extremely fluffy. Perfect for winter. Bathroom was clean, well maintained with good water temperature and excellent water pressure. Oh, and the koi in the pond were spectacular.

Minakamisansou asub Minakamis, kõigest 36 km kaugusel Gala Yuzawa Snow kuurordist. Kohapeal on vabaõhuvann, ühine puhkeruum ja lift. Neljatärni rjokani kõigist tubadest avaneb vaade mägedele. Food was delicious, the rooms very nice and clean and there were several hot spring baths so it didn’t feel crowded at all. Would definitely stay there again.

Neljatärnihotell Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso asub Nakanojos, 36 km kaugusel Ishidan-gai trepist. Kohapeal on vabaõhuvann. Konditsioneeriga majutusasutus on Naeba suusakuurordist 49 km kaugusel. Everything!!! Superb food, great and quiet location, excellent staff!!! There was no single thing that we wouldn’t rate AT LEAST 10/10. Greatly recommend staying more than 2 nights, so the atmosphere of the place and climate truly kicks in.

Houshi Onsen Chojukan asub Houshi jõe ääres. Kohapeal on avalik kuumaveeallikate bassein, Jaapani stiilis majutusruumid, tasuta WiFi-ühendus ja Jaapani köök. This place is just on the top of my ranking. A real Japanese experience with all the necessary detail to make the stay unforgettable. The different baths super clean and with history. The meals offered were delightful. And the environment just as needed, calm, serene and peaceful.

Oyado Tamaki pakub siseruumides ja väljas asuvaid kuumaveeallikate vanne ning traditsioonilist aeda, kus on pingid, kus külalised saavad istuda ja lõõgastuda. Service and servers were the best I have had at any hotel yet, the private bath and deck was incredible. I cannot fault this Ryokan, although it was expensive I would say it was worth it to do once or a few times. I wish I had more time so I could stay another night.

Boasting hot spring baths in a spectacular outdoor setting by Takaragawa River, Japanese-style hotel Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku is a 10-minute drive from Hodaigi Ski Resort. The best hotel. So impressive!!
