How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Needs maintenance. Gym is a bit sad and the pool a bit shabby. Otherwise grand.

The noise from the cars as the room was right at the end near the road.
Everything is always perfect. The room was cosy and lovely. The staff are amazing and friendly.

Honestly, the food was very uneven, and occasionally not edible. Not sure why this has happened but I hope Southern Sun will look into this. I remember the breakfast as being quite delicious and now it is so so. Some of the items from the menu were just plain bad. The kitchen needs some serious attention. Also, the service is very uneven, just depends on the personality of the server.
I've stayed here many times, and it looks like the rooms have been upgraded a bit - very comfortable. The eating space around the pool with the baby crocs is as fun as ever, although the plants for the weaver birds were cut. Hope they grow back and that the birds return!

We got the rooms 16.30 and not 15.00 as promised The breakfast didn't have many fresh fruits location was a bit off The road was quite noisy and woke up to car sounds.

Lifts hardly ever work and horrible carpet in the hallways
It was a great Location with very friendly and accommodating staff and a fantastic breakfast and good restaurant for evening dinning

The swimming pool did not seem very well kept.

We liked the room, the room facilities, the swimming pool, the gardens,the outside eating and breakfast area, the breakfast choice and quality was excellent, the green area close to the sitting and eating area was great with its weaver birds, the bar food was great. The staff in the kitchen led by Manina, the executive chef were brilliant. They engaged their customers and provided great customer service. Moses who headed up the breakfast egg cooking station is very skilled and makes the best eggs! The waiters all excel Wednesday were invited as guests to their Wednesday night ‘meet the hotel guests’ and it was a great opportunity to meet hotel key people and other guests

The first evening our waitress was really not up to scratch. She either had no training or no interest, I'm not sure but it was a let down. The gym could be refreshed and the pool does not quite measure up to the glossy images on Booking.com.
The rooms were good, clean and very tastefully finished. The gardens and verandah were a beautiful and relaxing retreat after a hard day of business travel. A good hotel that I was very satisfied with.

The room location (first floor, on the corner, door facing to pond nearby the restaurant) this time was not as good as my previous stay on the swimming pool side. Mosquitos were flying in the corridor next to my room.
It is a very nice and clean facility with very reach breakfast buffet. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

The only issue I had was with turning on and off the a/c in my room, but once I asked the staff the trick for getting it to work, I was all set. Also, the cost of the airport transport felt a bit steep, but it was reliable and good.
Very good breakfast buffet and enjoyed being able to eat outside on a covered patio no matter the weather. Loved watching the colony of masked weavers every morning while eating breakfast. Good a la carte dinner options as well. Lovely pool area. Comfortable rooms.

It will be great to get rid of those old drabby looking towels - they spoil the amazing bathrooms. Noisy aircon also dripping onto the carpet - need attention. Other than that, I love it there. Will definitely come back.

Pool is far from teh bar. we booked an executive that had two beds, no bath rope, no slipers, very small closet. Room really did not give us value for the money we paid. we even called the reception to confirm if they had given us the right room.
Breakfast was good, some of teh staff members were good, ready to help at any time Chipo is the best employee.
