Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesThe swimming pool would benefit to be repainted.
We really liked our stay at the lodge. It looks lovely, was clean, confortable and the food was good. What made it even more better is its people. Everyone is smiley and kind. Special word to Caroline and Kennedy who were always helpful and nice. We appreciated the possibility to organise activities through the lodge.

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Ngoma Zanga Lodge, Caroline and Kennedy are both so friendly and welcoming, they went above and beyond to ensure that we had a comfortable stay and were always willing to help in any way they could to make our holiday perfect. The property is really well maintained and kept clean, the decor in the rooms, reception area and dining room/bar is lovely and authentic and the pool area is beautiful. Load-shedding is a new issue in Zambia however the staff had managed to adapt and minimise the issues that it caused and a generator was installed by the owner a few days before we left. We wouldn't hesitate to return and highly recommend Ngoma Zanga Lodge!

New ZealandWater had a smell/taste to it, but possibly not the lodge's fault...
Very comfortable lodge, nice outside area with small pool, good breakfast and restaurant, friendly staff. Even with rolling load shedding imposed by the government, the lodge managed to maintain hot water, lights, a/c, and wifi for 90% of the time which was great compared to other places.

United KingdomThis lodge exceeded our expectations. From the moment I booked it to the end of our stay. Amazing! I had a few minor changes I needed to make and Caroline was more than happy to sort them for us. We had good communication all throughout... We loved the outside and reception area deco... My partner and I had booked the tribal room and it was gorgeous (both traditional and modern). The room was comfortable with Aircon available.. overlooking the pool. Breakfast was lovely and the restaurant meals were amazing (especially the burgers and the nshima). All the staff were friendly and helpful. Such amazing value for money!!! I would 110% recommend.

NetherlandsThat we stayed there too short.
Very friendly welcome by Caroline and Kenny. After a short introduction we were guided to our room which was a nice comfy room, but as soon as we wanted to unpack, we heard a knock on the door and our hosts offered us a free upgrade to a bigger room that was more the luxe. Also they arranged a great safari for us into Botswana. We can highly recommend the hotel, plus eat the local nshima at their restaurant! ✨️

United KingdomWiFi could be improved but likely due to limitations of the location. No mosquito nets initially (which were needed) but this was rectified after raising it to reception.

United KingdomWi-Fi a bit slow at times but we had enough to do to be worried about that.
Everything was amazing. Staff ever so helpful, anything from tours, advice on where to go. Ken & Caroline were great making our stay amazing. The kitchen staff made sure we were fed everytime, we never left to eat out because the food was amazing. Charity & Gilbert in the kitchen and everyone made sure we had a good time. The place is secure with security personnel during the night. The swimming pool is clean and a bar near by was handy. I can not recommend this property any highly. If you are in Livingstone book yourself at the Lodge. It’s a bit of a distance from the falls but transport is easily arranged for you. Carole , Ken & the staff at the Lodge. Thank you for making our stay amazing. Hope to see you guys soon.

ZambiaThe only thing I would recommend to improve is the quality of the WiFi, but it was not an issue since we weren't there all day, but I would recommend improving The WiFi quality and speed.
The staff was extremely helpful with everything. The location was excellent and the managers Caroline and Kennedy went completely above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
