Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location is a bit remote and the hotel discontinued its complimentary shuttle into Livingstone during the pandemic, so going anywhere involved a 20-30 USD taxi ride. Also, most activities that the hotel arranges (airport shuttle, game drives, tours, etc.) have a two-person minimum, which was less convenient for me as a solo traveler.
Overall, this was a lovely hotel and I would stay there again. The location on the river was beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurants was excellent.

United Kingdomfew wear and tears which reflects the price of a 5 star hotel situated on the Zambezi river and so close to Victoria falls.
Fantastic 4 night stay at the Aha David Livingstone safari lodge & spa, we were upgraded to a suite from a standard room. The Staff are all amazing, they went above beyond expectations, “Jacqueline”was super throughout our stay, all staff tended to our every need, always friendly and smiling, would recommend small tips as they are much appreciated, after covid losses. we also booked a sunset cruise which was fabulous, we saw hippos and lots of other wildlife! breakfast and evening food was as delicious.

United KingdomAlas there was a termite explosion of flying insects. Our balcony light was left on in error so we had thousands of visitors. Some made it under the door, but the staff and monkeys did a great clean up job. On the monkeys, they are very cheeky. A catapult waved in their direction will dissuade them however.
Good food and service. Made a real effort to feed us arriving late from border. Close to all activities, but remember - Livingstone is an African town.

United KingdomThe food was expensive and wasn't the best. We walked across the bridge to waterfront for food which was better in value and selection for vegans. Same for the drinks, but its to be expected in a fancier hotel. One thing they must change is the provision of drinking water. There should be a water filter tank where guests can refill their bottles to reduce plastic waste. The sprinklers were on far too much considering it had been raining.
The room was lovely with a great river view. It was ready early so we could enjoy it the whole day. The staff were friendly, particularly the head chef who ensured we were catered for as vegans. The pool was nice and there was a small gym overlooking the river, which we used. The grounds overall were pretty and we loved the Sunset cruise. It might seem pricey but drinks were unlimited and we had some nice canapes.

United KingdomThe service in the bar/restaurant area lets the place down. Everything we ordered from food to drinks and even asking for the bill was a struggle. The staff were lovely but just disappeared off for ages every time we asked for something. It was rather frustrating.
The location was fantastic. It was close to various attractions and activities. In addition, the scenery was breathtaking. We were sad to leave.

United StatesUnfortunately, the hotel has still not recovered from Covid. There were few guests staying there when we arrived. The activity center was not operating; I had to walk to another hotel to find and book activities. The lunch (and dinner) was not good at all - the worst food we ate on our 2-week trip. However, the breakfast buffet was surprisingly good. The hotel is a bit isolated. You cannot walk around much on the property. You have to get to the hotel by taxi - 15-20 minutes from either the airport or from the Zimbabwe border - and it takes 15-20 minutes for a taxi to arrive at the hotel to take you anywhere.
The rooms are amazing: good amount of space, luxurious bathroom, nice bed, and a wonderful scenic view of the river through glass doors or from the balcony. Throughout the day, you can see vervet monkeys playing by the river or even just outside the rooms. The staff is very friendly, and it's a good spot to relax.
