Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaRooms can be a bit hot at night, thats about it really
Loved the ambience, the views, the cleanliness, the happy staff, everything really. Its a short fun bus ride to town. They help you with anything. Happy hour awesome, pool beautiful, rooms really nice . Good choice of other restaurants about 10 mins walk if you want a change but to stay local. About 30-40 minute walk through Pango to Honeymoon beach also which has stunning snorkelling, or just get the little 150vt bus. So much to do there

AustraliaWifi was terrible across the resort - you had to go and stand in the restaurant to pick it up (whereas our bure was less than 100 feet from there, and one of the closest to the main building!) It would have been nice to have air cond even if to only turn on at night to help sleep. We didnt need it all the time, though, so we coped but this would have made our stay more comfortable.
Fantastic location, quiet with no kids (adults only resort) it was great to have less noise etc - facilities including pool, bar & restaurant were all excellent. The staff were all very friendly, helpful / offered suggestions on siteseeing etc on the island. It was relatively close to the township of Port Villa (only a 10-15 min cab or bus ride that cost ~$4-5 one way). Food at the resort was very good standard - well cooked and first class ingredients, with local, organic beef and fresh caught fish. Rooms were basic - with only fan for cooling & no Air Con but it was fine. Only humid on 1-2 of nights we were there.

AustraliaWhile the room was cozy and well-appointed, we noticed the absence of luggage racks and a designated space to hang clothes, which would have added to our comfort. Although there is a wardrobe, it's located in the bathroom. We found this arrangement a bit inconvenient for storing our clothes. Incorporating these features would enhance the overall guest experience.
Our stay at Breakas Beach Resort was exceptional. The absence of TVs and internet in the villas encouraged a serene disconnect, enhancing the tranquility of its beachfront location. The resort's calm atmosphere, combined with the friendliness of the staff, made for a truly relaxing retreat. The food, prepared by a talented Italian chef, was a culinary delight, and the welcome drink upon arrival was a thoughtful touch. The swimming pool, with its stunning ocean view, was a highlight. Breakas Beach Resort is a perfect choice for anyone seeking a peaceful getaway with great food and warm hospitality

AustraliaAir con would have gone a long way, and something that was included at cheaper places. The bungalows are cute and have a great island feel, but the bathroom floods cause the shower is just in the centre with no walls. Garden was beautiful, but in the end I would have preferred a place with air con, and just gone to breakas for meals
it was beautiful resort, the food was great. it is located a fair way from the town, but it has a beautiful beach/view.

AustraliaSurf is best at high tide and remember to take reef shoes - coral beach can be rough on tender feet, but there is a great pool for swimming! Although lunch menu was great, the dinner menu could have less 'Italian' dishes!
Peaceful escape from the rat race and only 5-10mins drive ('B' vans like taxi's but way cheaper at 150VAT!) from the city! Very relaxing, quiet and the staff are exceptional! No 'white box' style rooms here - had a beach bungalow and all great room designs and delivered the authentic island experience! Gardens are excellent to wander through on way back to room or walk along beach to access it. Relaxing to watch locals kite surfing, wind surfing and enjoying the breaks along coast! Good bar! Staff keep resort cclean and even rake the fallen leaves every day!

New ZealandThis wasn't a problem for us at all, but it's worth noting that wifi is only available in the common areas around the restaurant, bar and pool, not in the fares themselves.
Breakas delivered exactly what we were looking for: three days of pure relaxation, floating on pool noodles in the infinity pool, watching surfers catching waves on the reef and the village children enjoying their late afternoon swim in the sea. The fact that no under fifteens are allowed contributed to the tranquility. We loved how simple and uncomplicated it is: the tropical fruit breakfasts, fares made of local materials and the lush garden setting.

AustraliaThe bar closing at 9.30pm was disappointing, another hour or two would have been great. Check out was extremely slow, about 40 minutes.
The location on the beachfront was excellent. The bungalows were perfect for the location. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. The range of food choices was good with a bar menu, pizza menu and restaurant menu. Lovely cocktails. We arrived New Year's Eve and there was a good fun party atmosphere. The beach area was always clean and tidy. We were able to stay around the pool and in the bar after checkout, have lunch and wait for our airport transfer in the afternoon.

United Kingdom- Outdoor shower is a definite security risk we came back one day and the someone had jumped over the wall and got into out room. Stuff had been moved around but luckily anything valuable was in the safe. - Drinks and food were overpriced - Breakfast was very basic and the extras were exspensive - The site is unsecured as it is open to day visitors who can use the pool and facilities, meaning it was hard to get a sun bed or use the pool at times. - As an adult site only resort it's disappointing they let kids in as day visitors. One of they days we were there the pool was completely full of kids playing game and just being kids I suppose. Meaning we didn't use the pool.
Staff were amazing and very attentive. The pool and beach facilities were excellent. The room was comfortable and had everything you needed. The restaurant was good the chef is great.

AustraliaFood was just ok, but I think this is a reflection of vanuatu in general. Prices are Aussie prices. Service was friendly but you have to ask extremely clearly and sometimes more than once to make sure you get what you ordered. Music everyday was awesome, but sometimes it was so loud you couldn't even speak - 30% of the volume would have been perfect!
Great beach front spot with a nice pool. Fare's are quite large, always music or entertainment daily.

AustraliaCheck in was disappointing - arrived two hours prior to scheduled check in time and was not permitted to check in early despite resort being ~25% full and rooms being ready. I appreciate there is a standard check in time, but not sure the harm of letting paying guests in early. Resulted in lost opportunity for additional lunch purchase. Beach was not ideal for swimming at low tide.
Accommodation was good, Fares were well kept and comfortable. Staff were friendly. Food from restaurant was enjoyable.

New ZealandBe careful when booking massages and dinner reservations. Make sure they write them in the books, not just on a piece of paper. They missed our massage booking twice and the same with dinner. The final bill does not break down bar and restaurant expenses, so it is best to keep a log of what you have, especially if you stay for longer like us.
They offer a great pool area with lovely bungalows to stay in. They are spacious and cleaned really well. The food is outstanding, with no bad meals had. There are no concrete paths between the bungalows and other facilities, which we love as you feel very much at ease in the tropics. To get to the accommodation, a shuttle will cost 3,500 per group when a local bus is just 150 vatu per person. The buses are minivans, and there are literally 100's of them.
