I don’t like the mosquitoes (but that’s not the property’s fault haha!) make sure to take repellant with you. As in any hot climate you have to deal with pesty mosquitoes. But other than that the property ticked every box and is very affordable.

The property was honestly amazing and very aesthetically pleasing. Robert (the owner) has built a wonderful Property so close to the beach and having breakfast with such an amazing view of Bequia made the trip even more amazing. Roxanne and Cleo who work with Robert are truly amazing and loving locals who care a lot about the Sweet Retreat and the guess. Seeing them everyday made us very happy and they really know Bequia very well. I highly recommend staying at the property. It was great meeting Robert (a fellow Brit) he really has spent two decades transforming this property into something amazing. See you again soon!

It's on a hill, bit of a workout to get to you're room so if you're a bit physically challenged this is not the place for you

Fabulous location away from the really busy end of the town but a good walk gets you into the thick of the action ! Robert, Cleo and Roxanne couldn't do more to make our stay comfortable ......

There is nothing we didn't like. Note to potential guests: there are number of steps within the property.

Fantastic view of the bay from our room and the communal area. The owner and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was very good. We also had dinner one evening at the property prepared by Robert, the owner. Excellent food in an intimate atmosphere. Also, Robert can assist you with travel arrangements on the island and from St Vincent.

Only slight gripe was Luke warm shower a couple of evenings.

Fantastic location in more ways than one: a) Morning sea swim before a superb breakfast 1 minute away. b) two restaurants offering home cooked food 3 minutes away. c)Couple of great beach bars 4 and 5 minutes walk away. d) great beach/ path walk into town for more restaurants and bars and other necessities.

Location is amazing - super close to a really quiet beach with good snorkelling and a 20 min walk along the shore line to the port. Robert the owner is super nice and really interesting to chat to. He bakes amazing cakes too ! He organised a cab to pick us up from the ferry and was full of great advice

We had an excellent stay at Sweet Retreat. The breakfast was great. Robert and Roxanne where both such lovely people which made us enjoy our stay even more. The location couldn't have been better with a stunning view and close to a pardise beach. The village have a couple of local very nice restaurants.

There is nothing wrong with this place. The stairs up to the accommodations might be a little challenging for less fit or slight impaired people, but we had an absolutely perfect stay.

Robert is a constant professional. Incredible customer centred approach throughout our stay. Shout out to the unreal Roxanne who looked after us so well! Even did our laundry. The location is breathtaking, up a tiny hill overlooking the majority of the south east coast of the island. Hammocks everywhere, chilled vibes, incredible food made by Robert himself, and a true carribbean experience.

The house is extremely charming. Robert and Roxanne did everything to make our stay exceptional, starting every morning with a delicious breakfast. We loved relaxing on the big terrace while taking in the amazing view. The best beach of the island is just infront of the house. There are many restaurants around, but you should definitely try Roberts amazing cuisine.

There is nothing not to like, but It is a steep walk from the beach road to the property - less than 10 mins for us - and then up steps, but was good cardiac exercise!

A lovely boutique small hotel that, in my view, has more ‘Caribbean vibe’ than many of the big hotels in the area. Owned and very personally run by Robert (an Englishman who has lived there since 2006 and knows the area intimately) we couldn’t fault the very friendly service and attention to detail. Nothing seemed too much for him. Views from the terrace, where he serves delicious breakfasts and evening meals (on certain days), are spectacular.

I am no stranger to the mosquitos that come with living on an island, but the door to our room had duct tape to hold the screen in place where it had fallen off and there was a large gap on the bottom that allowed a lot of mosquitos to get in. The mosquito netting helped though when we were sleeping.

Robert was an absolutely incredible host! He was very accommodating and friendly, made a wonderful breakfast every morning, and you could tell that he loves what he does. The location was superb with an amazing view and a breathtaking beach.

The room was unfortunatley not what we expected. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, we woke up in pain. The mosquite net didn't quite cover the entire bed and it got really hot/uncomfortable in the rooms (no ac), but we had to leave the doors (with mesh screen) open to let any air into the room. Mosquitos were able to get under the door because there was a small space not covered by the mesh. We had to leave in the middle of our stay because it was really hard to sleep and relax in our bedroom.

The Sweet Retreat is in a lovely location, tucked away in the corner of the mountain. It has incredible views of the bay, seriously stunning views. The Staff is also very helpful/lovely.

Aged furniture. Real backpack feel. Shower does not drain first 2 days. Wifi in bungalow promised but non existent. Requires walk downstairs to main area.

Host is entertaining and super friendly, has many stories on many topics of the island Light on stairs not working. Fixed at first night. Simple but spacious room. No tea or coffeemaker or fresh water. There is a fridge. Shower bit outdated but warm. Breakfast is everyday the same: ssme fresh fruit bowl, omelet with ham, banana cake. Location: Great snorkeling at 40m at the local reef. Very nice and quiet beach. If you value hostmenship higher - as we do - go for it.
