Sometimes there was a slight smell coming from the toilet. It didn’t ruin my stay, but the plumbing perhaps needs some work.

Qosha Darvoza is in a great location close to the centre of town. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the room was nicely presented, and I really enjoyed my stay here as a solo traveller.

Really lovely hotel close to the old city, only 5 minute walk to the north gate. Room was beautiful with lovely decorations and very very clean. The beds were comfortable and it was very quiet so we slept really well. The room was warm enough this time of year, there was a big blanket in the wardrobe to use too, and it feels like it would be nice and cool in the warmer weather. The courtyard in the centre is so nice and I believe in warmer weather you can have breakfast out there too. Breakfast was good each morning. The staff were incredibly lovely.

White light in the room

The rustical design was a nice touch for our first impression of Khiva. Also, the manager (owner?) named Mansour was exceptionally nice and helpful. Will definitely recommend it to our friends <3

Everything was excellent this is why we came back here. My only suggestion is that they could do with a bit of a stronger light in the room for people who would like to do some reading.

The Qosha Darvoza is in a great location and only about a 5 minute walk from the gates of the old town. The owner is incredibly helpful, he picked us up from the train station for free, organised tours and drove us to the airport on our way back. Nothing was too much trouble for him. This was our second visit to the hotel and it continued to be a great choice. My mum loved the spacious, warm rooms and the fact that it is an original converted building. If you go to Khavi, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

They were great!!

A charming traditional building that was comfortable with a spacious air conditioned room, and delicious breakfast served in the shady courtyard. Great location within easy walk of the historic old city. Secure parking. And Most importantly the team were fantastic, helping us with local tasks, washing and general advice about how to best enjoy our time in Khiva.

We absolutely recommend Mansur's superb guesthouse, ideally situated at the gateway to the old town, magnificently arranged with spacious rooms and a patio that's perfect for getting to know people, especially as Mansur is adorable: thoughtful, generous and helpful, he invited us to meet his family and share a joyful dinner (the Uzbek vodka is delicious and Mansur is an excellent cook moreover!) with his friend Hasan, a French-speaking guide from Samarkand. He picked us up at Ourgench station and organised our visit to the citadels of the desert. On our last evening, we dined at his wife's restaurant in the old town, Bir Gumbaz, which we also recommend for its delicious Uzbek ravioli. We can't understand why this excellent address has disappeared from the brand new Petit Futé.

Nothing that we can think of.

Breakfast was great, so was the overall facility, and the proximity to Itchan Kala. But the best part of this hotel was the owner, who went to great lengths to make our stay comfortable. Mansur is a gem of a person and my family appreciates everything he did for us. While we were there, my daughter was ill and Mansur supported us by getting the medical care and being with us until my daughter showed some signs of recovering.
