Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThis list states the things that add to the charm and the character of this place. I had read of previous guests commenting on the stream of visitors entering the hotel to take photos. The is a historical old madrasah, converted into a hotel. So, there would be streams of visitors in the hotel trying to take photos with the Bibi Khanum mosque on the background. This adds to the character of the place. We even helped few visitors take their photos in the hotel. It doesn't have a locker in the room. My room didn't have right angle walls, which meant that the beds weren't parallel to the wall. That's because my room was the last in the lobby, and perhaps the room with the best view. The hotel's water reservoir system had some issues, resulting into no water in our taps. But the staff immediately attended to it. Believe me, we never found these to be an irritant to our stay in the hotel.
We were aware of what we were asking for while booking this place, and that's exactly what we got. It isn't your plush starred hotel. But what an experience. I would rate this the best stay in my trip to the four cities of Uzbekistan. It has a basic room with limited facilities, but we anticipated that while booking, and the lack of it did not disappoint us. The adjoining Zargaron restaurant is where they serve the breakfast, and we had the best of it. The dinner that we had in this restaurant (not included in the stay 😂) serves very nice food. We had an early check-out, and the hotel arranged for a full breakfast before we could leave.

MalaysiaA few hiccups like AC leaks and electrical problems during our stay. Staff understood and spoke only basic English.
Beautifully decorated with traditional Uzbek style. Room was clean and comfortable. Location is fantastic next to Bibikhanum Mosque and steps away from the bazaar. But it’s still very quiet and private.

New ZealandWe booked the restaurant for arrival but it was closed. There was no fridge or minibar in the room which was advertised. The heated floor in the bathroom was very hot for this time of year.
Excellent location next to the mosque. Staff were very friendly and helped with transport etc. It is easy to get around to the main sites and there is a big local market a few 100 metres away. We had a good time and the hotel and Samarkand in general was safe, friendly and astounding culture and history.

The hotel is so conveniently located. and is next door to the Bibikahnaum Mosque and Siyob Bazaar. All tourist sites are walking distance from the hotel. The area is very quite and peaceful. The hotel overlooks the Bibikhanum Mosque and it's a spectacular view especially at night. The breakfast was good and had all what one would eat for breakfast.

The view the place and the staff. The breakfast was well done too. It is all worth the penny. This hotel has big potential. Though u need to be cautious to make noise if u stay at 1st floor as it will make loud sound at the guest below.

SwitzerlandOrganizing the taxi on the way to the airport took some time, but everything worked well and prices were fair (close to yandex prices)
The location is even more beautiful than in the pictures. They gave us one of their best rooms, thanks for that! Everything else was great too... good breakfast, big enough room and comfy bed (hard as usual in Uzbekistan, but we like that)

NetherlandsThe rooms were really hot as the central heating was blasting all day, there was no way to regulate the heating through the radiator.
The location of the hotel is amazing, the pictures on booking.com almost don't do it justice, it is right on the doorstep of all the major sites in Samarkand. Breakfast was great, especially the view of the Bibikhanum mosque from the windows.

PhilippinesI didn’t like the dinner experience in the restaurant, food took a long time to arrived, our soup arrived after 1 hr, we requested the bread to be hot/warm but it came cold and we have to send it back to warm it up, the staff couldn’t be bothered, they rather play on their phone than pay attention to the service. The card machine was not working which was not informed to us in advance and we end up paying them in Euro with 5,000 additional charge on top. The bill also had a 15% service charge which is very expensive compared to the ridiculous slow and rubbish service that were rendered.
We really enjoyed our stay, the staff was kind enough to provide us the best room as I’m celebrating my birthday. The best view there is! And the location was fantastic just 1 stone away from Bibikhanum Mosque, 5 mins walk to Siyob Market, 7 minutes walk to President’s Tomb, 10 mins walk to Registan Mosque and 15-20 walk to Shah-I-Zinda. Breakfast is varied and the view of the restaurant was amazing

Hong KongThe staff made our stay memorable by being very accomodating and helpful in short a home away from home.
The hotel is located in the old part of the town and very close to all the important sights. The hotel has also gone into great lengths to represent the local culture with lots of beautiful and interesting details which makes this hotel stand out from chain hotels.
