Not much to complain about.

The view is outstanding - better than shown in the photos. Someone was there to meet us when we arrived. Also, the hosts advised us that we needed a taxi from the airport and arranged for someone to pick us up. We enjoyed Vava'u so much we doubled the length of our stay to 8 nights and the hosts were very accommodating, letting us check out late on the final day. The kitchen was well appointed with high-quality pots for cooking and a couple different devices for making coffee. Can't say enough good things about the Boathouse!

It would have been more comfortable with a few cushions for the chairs on the balcony. A sharp kitchen knife and a few more knives and forks would have been helpful. Although we arranged and confirmed airport transfers they did not turn up on either occasion.

A perfect location for visiting the island. Great view of the harbour. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

My one room apartment with ensuite met my needs perfectly - it was well appointed with a covered deck that has an expansive view of the beautiful harbour and is just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Vava'u's main town, Neiafu. Owner Shane was a delight to deal with. I felt it was value for money and will be where I stay next time I come to Vava'u.

There was no WiFi altough this was prominently mentioned on booking .com. Excuses due to the situation after Tsunami and Hunga Tonga eruption I can understand completly but that should be mentioned latest in an Email after booking. Luckily there were two spots in town with WiFi.

We ran out toilet paper. There was a mix up over the cleaning day so there didn't end up being a cleaning day. You'll want to check in at cafe Tropicana before arriving at the boat house

Loved the location and the air conditioning in every bedroom. It was clean although, we bought a broom to keep it clean. The kitchen was small but had all the necessities.

Similar to other reviewers - getting access to the key was rather frustrating. You have to go to Cafe Tropicana in town (end of town) to collect. Not sure why this isn’t mentioned in pre-check in notes or made clearer on property board outside. Only local numbers are listed (no Int.dial code). Unfair to expect people to be able to make local calls or even know how to! Could easily be solved with clearer instruction. Is also difficult to manage when you have bags - to drag to/from town for check in/out. Would be good if some transit/baggage service was offered or better thought about. Be warned that no taxi, no ATM and no SIM shop at airport on arrival. Again, this info would be helpful before arriving. Apartments are cosy and good value (remembering its 3*) but really need a good investment and clean up and they could be so much nicer. The AC machines are very dirty and need replacing, similar for things like fridges / cutlery etc. Would also be nice to have some basic amenities supplied like water / coffee etc. Its very bare. Think people would happily pay more for even a small investment to quality.

Fantastic location, very close and enjoyable walk to town. Vava’u is an incredible place. The apartments are cute and ideally located with many good restaurants around. We had an issue with plumbing which owner Shane was kind enough to reimburse us a night. Shane was very helpful when we needed him, as we had a few different small issues.

Cleaning was awefull (when I told the staff they came right away. I told them about the food in fridge (from the previous guest like a cut onion) and the hairs in the sink and shower, the fly pupas in the fridge, ... and they cleaned that but just the rough stuff. They still didnt clean the faucet or sink and thats just the basic cleaning. I am not even mentioning the dust and cobwebs (wich I can live with but it just shows the bad hygiene). Bed (you roll to the middle) There were cockroaches, we killed multiple

Location (very central but also noisy at night) Balcony Staff at Tropicana is helpfull and friendly (food is also good there) Car rental was very convinient

I arrived at the apartment and did not know beforehand that there was no reception area so walked around trying to find it. Eventually called the number on the sign and the person who answered was actually quite rude when I mentioned I had only booked for one night. They spent a while complaining about one night bookings from booking.com even if it was not my fault. The property owner who let me into the room was actually friendly and professional though. Apartment was ok with beautiful view but a bit musty smelling as if hadn't been aired in a while in rainy weather. A one day supply of tea coffee and milk would have been nice as well

Lovely place! The view from the deck is gorgeous! Pretty good location with nearby ATMs, shops, dive shops and Café. There are kayaks and snorkeling equipment that can be easily rented from the nearby tropicano cafe for extra entertainment. Aircon runs well and shower is nice and warm. I missed the whale season but had a peaceful stay, thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The owner Shane is kind, generous and responsive! I even got a lift to the airport for my flight in the morning (thank you so much for that :) Due to the flight schedule, I had to check out a night early and Shane even got me a refund for that. A very happy customer :)

Very convenient to town and TradeWinds dock. Not fancy but clean with a nice shaded balcony looking over the bay. Good price.
