Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyIt might get a bit louder on the weekends, but in such a central location this is normal.
Perfect Location in Chinatown with walking distance to a lot of great places (Temples in Chinatown, Maxwell Center, Marina Bay…). The interior is very beautiful and the complimentary snacks & drinks in the lobby are a great gesture!

DenmarkEverything about our stay was amazing. The staff were helpful, the room was bigger than expected, and the cold water, coffee and snacks was a bonus. Breakfast wasn’t included but it didn’t bother us, as there were plenty of places nearby. And location was superb, next to MRT.

ChinaIf there is socket in bathroom for hairdryer that will be great. All is good in fact.
The room is very comfortable and reasonably spacious. I like the whole feeling of being in a refurbished vintage property. The location is superb, within walking distance to Maxwell mrt station, interesting neighborhood with many nice coffee shops. The free flow of wine and beer at 5pm is bonus point!

AustraliaThe bed was a bit soft, causing some discomfort. There is no telephone in the room to contact the receptionist .
The team leader, Fradaus and his staff were helpful, friendly and professional in their service delivery. It is a pleasant surprise to have a free 'canteen' 24/7. Also appreciated the free 24/7 laundry facility provided for the guests.

AustraliaA pool would be a nice but there is already a lot to see & do in Singapore so I would only really use it for a quick dip to cool down or for a quick cocktail. Our bathroom was very small (corner room) but I am sure that other rooms had bigger bathrooms. Bottled water & a mini bar would be good if someone wanted a nice cold beer or something alcoholic. We got a good deal on booking.com for this hotel ($307AUD) for one night but if it was the usual price $400-$470, I would find that too expensive & would opt for something cheaper.
This is what I call a beautiful boutique hotel…it is small, friendly & unique. I loved the feel & the beautiful decor. It was warm and welcoming and offered a few extras such as the free snack bar and a shower which is available to use before your departure. The staff provided us with friendly, personal and professional service which felt very different to the usual checkin at other hotels where you wait in front of a big desk for your turn. Here there is a staff member to greet you at the door who offer advice & help in any way you need. Ann Siang House offers a nice, relaxing atmosphere in the common area where you can find a great variety of free snacks all day long. You can sit, relax and enjoy a free cool drink, iced tea or coffee from their amazing coffee machine! We really enjoyed their lovely snack bar area and they offer free wine & beer from 4-5pm I think. They don’t provide a breakfast as such, but in the morning we found muffin bars & a yummy looking pastry bun, plus biscuits. The decor is simply gorgeous & we loved our room, especially the size & the mix of classic & new furniture. Our bathroom was very small but we booked the hotel on that day & grabbed the first room available after seeing how small & dirty our original hotel was. There is a tiny bit of noise at night but the location is great (a few mins walk to the temple & ChinaTown), the service was excellent (a special thankyou to Fridaus), all staff were polite & helpful. The room had everything we needed although you must go downstairs to fill up your glasses with water.

United Arab EmiratesService was good but not warm. slightly above the pure functional communication typical of Singapore. Mini bar was empty for some reason I ignore and there was no laundry bag.
Highly recommended for its charm and location. Charming building with character, excellent location in Chinatown, close to bars and restaurants but room not noisy. Modern interior and spacious rooms and bathrooms considering it is a heritage building. It was also particularly spotless and clean and the bed super comfortable

United KingdomHonestly, nothing, we loved this hotel.
We had booked a suite here and it was a fabulous and comfortable room with separate living area and a huge, beautiful bathroom. The hotel has a lot of charm and character and is conveniently located for the city with plenty of restaurants very close by. Staff were very friendly and we were impressed by the choice of snacks and tea/coffee included. We appreciated the complimentary drinks early evening too, thank you!
