    “Everything was excellent”

  • Aroha Taveuni Review score: 10

“What a beautiful place! Staff were amazing, location was idyllic and the room was wonderful. The restaurant had incredible specials on the menu every day and the amazing sunsets added to the dinner experience. The staff happily and efficiently organised drivers and whatever we wanted to do while staying on Taveuni. A very close walk to the village that had a couple of supermarkets and the beautiful old Catholic church is also just down the road. A very special place!”

  • “Oceanfront location with proximity to other services if needed (grocery store, airport, other resort restaurants). Small number of guest cottages/guests on site. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We appreciated all of the information provided before we arrived to insure a comfortable and pleasant experience. Excellent snorkeling within a short boat ride from the property.”

    “The location and price.”

  • Garden Island Resort Review score: 8

“We loved our stay at Garden Island resort in Taveuni. We had a lovely ocean view from our room and really enjoyed the bat colony close by. Lovely to watch them take off to their feeding grounds at sunset. Every staff member was super friendly and helpful. The room included a continental breakfast and free afternoon tea with homemade cake or cookies everyday. We ate in the restaurant every.night, which was always delicious, very reasonably priced and included free entertainment with traditional songs played on guitar every night. The resort also recommended a bird watching tour up DeVoix Peak which we enjoyed, and the staff packed breakfast for us to take for the 5am start. The resort is only 1.5kms to the jetty to catch ferry to Buca Bay and a 2km.walk to town centre and historical church overlooking the bay.”

    “Garden”

  • Aroha Taveuni Review score: 10

“Aroha is the perfect place to stay in Taveuni. We came on the ferry from Vanua Levu and it is right next to the ferry pier. The property is very well maintained and really beautiful. The location is perfect and I would recommend hiring a 4WD vehicle. (Organised by the host). The host Losalini was very accommodating. She went above and beyond. She also chooses exceptional produce for the chef. The restaurant has the best food on the island for sure with their signature Wood Fired pizza. The rooms are fabulous, air conditioned with outdoor showers. The island has the Rainbow Reef which is a must for scuba divers and snorkelIers (I can highly recommend Taveuni Ocean Sports). The Bouma falls is worth a visit (we went to the 2nd fall which was far enough- one has to cross the river so ensure you have shoes u dont mind getting wet). There are so many villages one passes by on the way to the falls. Its also quite cool to visit the 180 degree Meridian.”

“The location, the unirts, the host, breakfast, pool - everything exceeded our expectations. A great place and a superb host. Allan is outstanding!”

  • Camp Taveuni Review score: 10

“My partner and I stayed at Camp Taveuni for four nights. We originally booked the small twin room but upgraded to the larger en-suite when we arrived. Tons of space and a super comfortable bed. No AC, but the two large fans were more than sufficient given the relatively mild temps when we were there (low 80s). We appreciated the filtered water from the bathroom tap and that the room was tidied up every day while we were out. Allen really made our time in Taveuni. He picked us up from the airport and gave us a brief tour of town to help us get our bearings. He made sure we were always set with activities and dinner plans for the next day (with no pressure to do or book anything in particular) and facilitated interactions between his guests. His extensive local knowledge was invaluable. Don't miss out on the Lavena Coastal Walk or the kayaking trip out to the islands (but make sure the tide isn't too low to easily navigate the reef!). A few other details: the property is located up a dirt road close to town. It can be a bit muddy if it's been raining, but we walked to and from the Dive Cafe multiple times without issue. We also enjoyed the two dogs (including a chaotic but adorable puppy) and the cat on the property. We were able to do laundry for a reasonable price, and there was a washing station and hanging lines for our wet clothes when we came back from activities. Overall, we had a fantastic time in Taveuni and would highly recommend staying at Camp Taveuni as an alternative to the resorts.”
