How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything: the lovely staff, the pool, the laid-back vibe in the hostel, bar has yummy food and drinks, amazing breakfast, well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds. It was really hard to leave this place!

Spacious and clean room in a great location! The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Loved the outside area, the opportunity to buy good and affordable coffee and the lovely cats!

Kitchen could be better equiped
Super nice volonteers from different countries at the reception. Delicious breakfast with music in the lovely garden with lots of plants.

I never managed to get hot (or warm) water out of the shower, but everything else worked well. Since all the common areas are outdoors, make sure to bring a warm jacket if you are visiting during the winter!
This hostel has nice, clean rooms and common areas, helpful staff (and two friendly cats!), a convenient location near the microcentro, and a great breakfast. The staff let me dry my clothes on the clothes lines in the garden and provided solid info about navigating Asunción. I would stay here again if I came back to Asunción.

Breakfast started late when we had to leave early so didn’t get our included breakfast. When I asked if we could drink a beer in our room, the reception lady asked that we didn’t “spill beer all over the room”. I managed to resist the temptation and all the beer went into my mouth. Hooray.
Very lovely place in Asuncion. Clean rooms, big bed, beautiful setting. Hot water on demand. Friendly and welcoming staff.

The staffs are very friendly and willing to help The room is spacious and the bathroom is clean. There is daily housekeeping. The location of the hostel is on a quiet street, so not a lot of noise, it is just 3 blocks away from a supermarket where you can get packaged food like Sopa Paraguaya, or hygiene products. There is a outdoor food court about a block away, search for Comedor tia Chela, that serves good/cheap local foods The hostel is about a 15 mins walk to the historic center. The wifi connection is great, no issues at all The bus station (to CDE or Encarnacion) is 6km away. I'm looking forward staying with them again on my return trip.

I had a great stay at Nomada hostel. The location is excellent and is very close to the city center. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The hostel also has a lot of outside areas and a swimming pool. I would stay here again when in Asuncion.

Possibly only that wifi doesn’t extend to rooms but I was fine with using it in the common areas, not a problem!
I loved the garden/ pool area - a little oasis in the city. I also liked my private room, it was a nice touch having air con. And I liked how clean everything was kept. The lady running everything was lovely, very efficient

My boyfriend and I had to check in on Christmas Day, not by choice (planned originally to be somewhere else for xmas) and we understand hotel policies for check in times. However, we arrived at 10.30 in the morning because check out was 10am at our other hotel, it’s Christmas so everything was closed. No option other than to arrive early, and they literally made us wait until 2pm to check in. More than 3 hours waiting outside in the heat, watching people enjoy the pool and their Christmas dinner. I mean have a policy for check in, but on bloody Christmas Day you could be a little bit nicer.
Very clean and nice comfortable room. A really nice garden area and a great breakfast!
