How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

there is nothing to add here.
its a great little place, the decor is well designed, love the historical features. Very central and the breakfast is excellent. I left some items behind and they kept them for me for a friend to collect.

The bed was too hard and relatively short.

The one small window we had was into a small courtyard so it felt a bit claustrophobic if that’s your thing. The bathroom and the room were pretty small but alright for a one night on our road trip.
Good location tucked in behind the main street. It was pretty quiet other than one barking dog at night. An ok breakfast.

Maybe parking might be mentioned, to explain it is public parking with ticket display only allowed to pay for two hours at a time, so meter needs filling every two hours between 9am and 7pm.

Bathroom was very small and could do with a good scrub. Breakfast was just okay. Otherwise perfect stay!
Excellent location right in town and close to the waterfront. The room had everything we needed.

Stairs to get to the elevator. I stayed two nights, one morning the alarm went on, nothing was happening. A few electrical cuts. Pillows are not very comfy. The first day the hot water was not really hot (we didn’t complain) 2nd day it was ok.
Great Location. Friendly and Kind staff. Comfortable mattress. Breakfast was small but good, with lactose free options.

No long term parking around, only maximum 2 hours. For 4 hours, need to go further away. For a day, don't know where to park. The room smells of humidity, open the window will become noisy from the street. The shower is quite small. If you are a bit fat, it will be difficult to fit in.
It's situated in the pedestrian zone of the town centre. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is good.

Since the hote is in the pedestrian zone (you have to walk may be 50 m, not a problem), there are people outside also at night, so it may get sometimes a bit noisy. Room got hot even in November, but aircondition (perfectly working) did help.
the hotel is completely renovated, everything new in an old house - rooms are small but convenient, location in the citz center is optimal, breakfast was surprisingly complete and good parking is available close by but mostly metered.

it would have been nice to have some outside space but that is often the case with hotels in the centre if town.

this hotel is close to everything. it was clean and breakfast included. the room is a bit smaller than other hotel but it was ok as we only wanted a clean room to sleep in and we’re always out.

We didn't like the bathroom glass door because we couldn't slide it open easily, and because it doesn't really separate the bathroom from the rest of the room. It isn't a "proper" door.
The hotel is very close to Praça de Quebedo train station, and to the catamaram to Troia, so the ubication is perfect. As well, the breakfast buffet was also very good, and there are many restaurants nearby.

Bigger room and bathroom if they could,
Nice and Small hotel. Lovely breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable bed right in the heart of the city center. The room coul be bigger but not that important. Definitely value for the money.
