Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeWe had a wonderful stay at Quinta de Marrocos, but the true highlight was meeting Cesar, the 4th generation owner. His passion for port and winemaking was infectious and made our experience truly special. Cesar's warm hospitality and generosity with wine tastings allowed us to indulge in some of the best port we've ever had. The cellar tour was informative and insightful, followed by a delicious home-cooked dinner with fellow guests. We also enjoyed exploring the property and foraging for juicy oranges. Overall, a fantastic experience that we won't soon forget.

United StatesRoom lacked A/C, hot water could be limited just before 8am. The biggest problem though was leaving (didn't want to!)
It was wonderful being immersed in the slower paced life of the Duoro valley. The staff were very welcoming and made feel right at home - literally!! We had a living room, bedroom w/private bath, common area, books to read, free reign to walk the vineyard, a great porch for relaxing, and wonderful meals. The orange juice itself was fantastic! And then there was the wines... If Cesar is free to chat try to share a glass of port with him, they are quite good. It was a very restful stay, I recommend it to all busy professionals.

United StatesWe thought the “special” dinner was overpriced for what was offered. For 75 Euros per person we were expecting higher quality food and service. It would be worth the cost if it had been more like 50 Euro per person. There are a lot of high quality restaurants in town serving as competition- excellent meals without so many courses at lower prices.
Loved the place itself, the property, the location. Cesar, the owner ,was charming and informative. Also appreciated all the help. The cellar tour was terrific with Andre as was the welcome wine tasting with Cesar.

United StatesA true gem in the Douro Valley! We took a drive to all of the viewpoints on 222. Beautiful country! This location was close to restaurants and so many other wineries to taste. We enjoyed the tour of Quinta de Maroccos' wine cellar and the wine tasting, followed by a delicious meal! Excellent wine and port. Andre was a wonderful guide and he diligently worked to make sure we had a pleasant stay. El Sehnor Cesar was a gracious host and took time to talk to each guest, making us feel very welcome. Sadly, we had to leave, but a woman staff member helped me down to the car. (I had injured my knee a few days prior.) I wish I had gotten her name, but she was so kind, and insisted on carrying my backpack to the car. Truly , a wonderful host family, as they made us feel like family. Hopefully, we will be able to return, and if so, this is the only place we would want to stay. Thank you!

United StatesWe stayed in the off season. Room was comfortable but still a bit chilly. The property is on a hill so for anyone with movement challenges, the property will be difficult.
Authentic experience of port and wine making. Discussions with staff about the region and wine business were informative and much appreciated. Room was comfortable and guests can use living room for evening. Meals were delicious. Dining area has an amazing view of the river/valley.

United KingdomOverall a very pleasant stay, but some refresh of the bathroom facilities, new toilet seat and shower screen needed to keep facilities up to scratch for price. Not a problem for us, but steep cobbled drive to fairly tight parking area is one to be aware of. Pulling out into road made easier by mirrors, but hire car's front bumper grounded when we tried it straight on.
Warm welcome, friendly hosts. Old world charm on a working winery. Good food, lovely breakfasts. River view from room, lean out to watch the boats pass on the river below (other side of the quiet road). Watch the trains rattle past on the far side of the river. Convenient location to experience the Douro valley, and hills and villages either side.
