- our first night was not pleasant. We found that the toilet would not flush and only scalding hot water initially came out of the taps then no water at all. The staff did not seem to care at all to find and immediate resolution or have anyone fix it. We spent a day and a bit going to the the hotel to use the toilet and check out showers when we paid to have a working apartment. Front desk staff did not seem remorseful or regretful at all which left us with a slightly sour feel after our stay here.

There were stairs to apartment and only air-conditioned in the bedrooms not the living room. There could have been a bottle opener and some tea coffee or water for arrival. As we arrived late.

The location was good. The flat was clean and comfortable. Beds and pillows were comfortable. The balcony was a must. We would definitely return.

there was a constant bad smell in the bathroom but I guess that could be a drainage problem throughout the town so no fault of the Baltum.

Great position really close to Albufeira's main tourists attractions (5 minutes by walk) and beach as well (5 minutes by walk as well). great choice for a weekend with friends. possibility to have breakfast for 7 euros at Baltum hotel next to Baltum apartments

The young lady at front desk was not friendly. When there was a shift change the gentleman was friendly and helpful. There is no elevator so be prepared to walk up to your room... I was on the last floor. We did not check in until 5pm when check in was 4 pm.

I’d say because there’s no AC in the living room area, it becomes majorly hot inside the room, I would advise the hotel to probably look into that and see if they could install an AC in the living room. Also could do with better curtains for privacy if you want to get changed in your room with the light on. I would 100% advise, if you’re coming to this hotel really early in the morning e.g. you touch down at Faro Airport before 2pm, don’t expect your apartment to be ready. The room would be ready at 3pm/3:30pm onwards but due to the fact we got to the hotel at 11am, we were told that our luggage would be looked after whilst we wait for the room. Except, we were given a key to a room that holds our luggage inside and after we put our luggage there, we come back before 3pm, get told the room is ready and then we go to the luggage room to pick up our luggage to see that there’s many other luggage’s there? i found it a bit weird so probably do need to find a way to sort that out. Lastly, to the two women receptionists who served us when we first came into the hotel, I can understand that you’re dealing with a lot of tourists that come in and out etc so I could understand that sometimes you might be annoyed but I would advise, we’re not all like that, we don’t need an annoyed attitude but I won’t blame you, probably advise Emanuel to speak to them to sort it out.

The apartment was very clean, had everything you needed when it came to essentials. The AC in both the rooms we had worked amazing when dealing with the high temperatures. When my group were out enjoying the sights, the cleaning team would come inside the room and give us new towels and extra toiletries + nothing was stolen/or taken from the apartment, which shows that you can definitely trust Hotel Baltum in future use. The location in my opinion was excellent, you’re right next to old town which has a vast variety of restaurants and shops, majority of the places took contactless payments which made it easier. Even so, if you’re wanting to enjoy the night life, you’ve got a taxi stand right next to the hotel which can take you into new town (cab drivers do take euros so have some on you) and the rooftop bar at the hotel with the jacuzzi was great (closes at around 9:30pm), especially with the view you get when you’re at the top. I would also like to add, make sure you speak to Emanuel at the lobby to ask what there is to do, he’s got a vast knowledge of everything that’s going on and he was super helpful to us. Also the rooftop bar, I believe her name was Karina? she’s the one that was in control of the bar and made us feel comfortable and was a vibe whenever we had any enquires. Best thing about this place, you are literally 30 seconds away from the beach. There’s supermarkets everywhere so don’t worry about going to Lidl when you’ve got small businesses next to the hotel that don’t charge expensive and have everything you need for a good 5-7 days. P.S. if you’re going to do tours etc like boat, jet ski, quad biking, make sure you have euros on you & go to the ticket places! check all the pamphlets before you choose what you want to do (or probs check tripadvisor)

The air con wasn’t working in one of the bedrooms however, this was fixed within a couple of days of letting them know and the Wifi wasn’t working but again, not a huge issue for our party.

Perfectly placed in the heart of the resort but sound proofed enough that the noise of the clubs etc could not be heard late on.
