It was an amazing experience, the room views were breathtaking,its quite big and spacious with all facilities, staff was very professional and helping,got an free upgrade to suite, I was staying with my friends we all loved it and definitely planning to stay again.

The place has become a little crowded and no longer has the exclusivity it used to offer. The mosquitos in rooms were a bit scary until the coils were provided

Defence Raya Golf & Country Club is currently the best hotel /club in lahore,beautifully designed ,spacious rooms,serene balcony views and delicious food.They even served breakfast in our room which was upgraded as well.The staff was extremely helpful and hospitable especially Mr. Hamza on reception was just brilliant ,he upgraded my room to accommodate my kids better😊 I really appreciated Mr. Hamzas hospitality and consideration ! That gesture alone will bring us back to this Defence Raya golf & country club . My daughters love to play in their Kids play area. The area is spacious and very well designed for kids of all ages with enough activities to keep them engaged. Play area staff is also very friendly and provide comfortable environment for kids. Me and my family love to stay at Defence Raya Golf & Country Club and we would definitely come back again.

The reception staff is rude cancelled my booking and asked me to leave the property. I was not allowed to enter the gate so I insisted because I had no other booking so the let me stay in

Construction ongoing on either side of club, didn't have too much impact on our stay though. Would recommend club to have a facility to be able to order taxis or be able to hire driver and car from reliable company as to travel anywhere else for sightseeing or shopping had to rely on uber which caused problems when Pakistan had no Internet during elections.

One inconvenience : One must leave luggage at a collection point significantly distant from the club entrance and if you are driving yourself it’s a hassle. Because you then have to go park and walk back. Finding parking is challenging due to the constant rush from ongoing functions. Also, there is no valet parking.

Two things: 1. I tried to adjust the shower head and it fell on my toe. Luckily I was not hurt. 2. In the closet the hanger rod is so high that I could not reach it. It is very poorly designed. You can add a shelf on the top and lower the rod by a foot.

Staff at reception are professional but perhaps not the friendliest or forthcoming. There were no ‘Good Mornings’, even if they saw you from afar, and unless you approached them yourself, no one would speak to you or acknowledge you were there. I think this makes for quite a ‘cold’ environment, which is not necessary. The standard of clientele staying / using the facilities at the Raya are such that one would expect a more personable reception and welcome each morning / whenever a guest walks in and out of the hotel, especially international guests (like ourselves), who are used to a certain level of customer service and expect friendlier (but not intrusive) front of house, as this is the first port of call and the first impression one gets. Rest of the staff (cleaning / room service in particular) were always courteous and polite and I extend a special thanks to the gentleman who worked in the in-house coffee shop on the ground floor. He was so kind and made great efforts! Unfortunately, a small complaint; my husband cut his foot and so, momentarily came down to breakfast wearing leather flip flops (just till the wound dried a little and he was able to plaster up and wear his usual closed shoes). As soon as he sat down to have a sip of coffee, a waiter came over and instructed my husband to “Go change your slippers. Management do not allow such shoes here”. No ‘please’, no ‘Sir’. Without hesitation we both got up and left to do just that, and although we already knew and observed the dress code (this is not the first time we have stayed at such a property. We have travelled the world), to be approached so unexpectedly and quite harshly was a genuine shock and actually quite upsetting, especially as the waiter didn’t even stop to ask if all was “alright” / if my husband required some medical assistance or just some help.

A smart hotel with a strict dress code that is fairly standard within the (country) ‘club’ world. Facilities are very good and there is even a beauty salon within the property, and women’s health and fitness + spa. I utilised all and they were to a high standard. Breakfast is wonderful, as is the whole room service menu. We mostly ordered to our room and ate on our terrace overlooking the golf course - a very tranquil and green space that made for the perfect place to relax. We booked our stay at the Raya for 4 nights initially, but extended it to 6 because we felt so comfortable. Infact, had we no plans to travel around Pakistan, I dare say, we would have most likely stayed there our entire trip and used it as our base to explore. We would definitely stay again.

Basic toiletries like comb and tooth brush were not supplied and were only available on demand. Never have I experienced such tradition in any 5 star hotel. Also western breakfast has room for improvement. Cheesecake had a desi touch which is such a put off.

The serene view from the room was breathtakingly beautiful. The staff was extremely helpful and hospitable. The room service was just amazing. The kids play area and salon was a plus. Overall, the exceeded my expectations.

It’s a world class resort with the comfort of home. Great, well manicured 18 hole championships golf course. Staff is very friendly and willing to help you in every aspect of your daily activities and needs.
