How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We booked the cheapest option and we found a lot of geckos in the room, they were not getting on the bed but you could hear them walking on the walls. I guess it is normal due to the AC inside and the extreme warm outside. I recommend booking the slightly more expensive option which looked like a proper lodge
The location was very good and the service offered with dinner and breakfast was very good

Really nice camp. Very friendly hosts there. Resort is nearby of the turtle resort. Nice bathroom.

Service at dinner and breakfast was poor - was never quite sure what was going on! Asked for a drink and was brought a mountain dew without being asked what we'd like...
Very quiet and beautiful location. Close to the turtle reserve which we visited. Easy to find. Very good AC. Food was simple and ok.

No wifi. Dinner the chicken is ok, but the meat is very bad, chewing meat I would call. Manager should check this. A bit overcost
The deluxe rooms are nice and something different to the regular hotel. Very convenient location for the turtles. Breakfast is ok

The reception told us that since the natural reserve was only a few minutes away, we shouldn't go early and that arriving around 8:45 for the 9:00pm departure was fine. Fortunately we decided to go at 8:30pm and even then we almost missed our chance and had to argue with the staff at the reserve to let us in as there were already so many people. So don't listen to this and go there early, especially on weekends and public holidays.
The hotel is nice and feels unique. The private semi-outdoor bathroom is a nice added touch to give a special experience (if you don'tlike outdoors or not having A/C in the bathroom, then this is not for you). The room itself has an A/C, which worked very well. The hotel is a bit secluded from other buildings and the natural reserve, yet still close enough for you to reach there in a couple of minutes by car, which is great. The food in the restaurant was decent, nothing special but no complaints there. The staff were kind.

Pedestal fan would be good if kept near the food lobby. One drawer would be good if kept inside. Scraps can be accommodated properly inside property.
Very accommodative staff. Good vegetarian food provided. Dinner and breakfast were Good.

It would be nice to be accommodate a family of 4 persons in the deluxe rooms, they are so big… The price of the rooms seems to decrease a lot if you book last minute, which we did not…

I was missing fruit tea.

Very convenient location for visiting the turtle reserve. It can be reached comfortably in 5 minutes by car, even less. Very good dinner and breakfast buffet. Comfortable rooms ranch style.

I was a bit disappointed by the food quality, espacially for the dinner. Breakfast was still average but a bit better (freshly cooked omelette)
The bungalow was very big and clean. Friendly staff Who was very helpful with the luggage. Very close to the turtle reserve.

Breakfast could be improved, felt like it was lacking some healthier options.
Great location, very close to the turtle reserve. I liked the feeling of remoteness; it was very quiet and felt comfortable. The rooms are very spacious and pleasant looking. Dinner was better than I expected, with a variety of food offered.

It was a great location for the turtle beach and the rooms were very comfortable particularly the Dulux. The food was good 👍 The staff were amazing and very accommodating and I would highly recommend a stay here.

Dinner need to be improved with more food variety and in strong windy day the rooms are not comfortable because of air noise leaks through doors and windows.

Our stay at Sama Raz al Jinz was an absolute delight. The staff's exceptional hospitality, especially towards our little one, made the experience truly special. The unique resort is really a very special location since it offers a magical night under the stars in the middle of Oman. You are close to the beach and to Sur for some excursions. We also would like to highlight the great food offer in the morning and at night. We enjoyed it very much. Overall, Sama Raz al Jinz provided a perfect blend of home-like comfort and an extraordinary Oman experience. We highly recommend it to those seeking a great stay in the Sur region.

The coffee from a Nescafe machine is really disappointing. A filter coffee or anything but this instant coffee would have rounded up the near perfect stay.
The room was very spacious and felt really original. The atmosphere is very beautiful and from the rooms to the paths and the restaurant area everything is well designed with a nice touch. It's well located, easy to find and we were welcomed friendly. The buffet for dinner and breakfast provided enough vegetarian options.
