It was one of the best experience during our 14 days trip over Oman. Hamsa is really good guy. He offers us very good and cheap dinner. We talked a lot about Oman culture.

This place is special & unexpected. We came here to seek out a base before visiting Jebel Shams and truth be told this stay was more spectacular than the mountains. The property sits in a working date farm area next to the old Al Hamra village. The dates make it so refreshing and unique landscape we haven’t really encountered in our roadtrip in Northern Oman. It was so lush and green and relaxing. RELAXING is the operative word. You see the mountains from a soothing and airy balcony area, perfect for napping or mulling life over chai. It’s bucolic where farmers run around in bikes and moped and you can certainly borrow a bike if you wish to do so. The old abandoned village is walking distance. The best part of this was the proprietor, Hamza. He is the epitome of renowned Arabian hospitality and was so excited to meet his guests. He is chatty and welcoming and walked us around his village. When we asked for a coffee as we needed to head to Nizwa Souq early he prepared it with kindness. As it was Ramadan, he was running back and forth taking care of us and heading to be with his family for prayers. What a devout and kind person, truly.

The rooms have small windows but that is normal in traditional Omani architecture I think.

I love this place. Salam Inn is the best hotel in Oman for me and Hamza is the best host. At this hotel you truly feel welcomed and like home. The place is beautiful, it has great, traditional Omani style. The staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms are spacious and stylish, and also well quipped (aircon, fridge, some cutlery and kettle). The WiFi works very well and the water is hot. The breakfast is tasty and plentiful. But our favourite thing was the terrace with amazing vibe and beautiful views and the hospitality of the owner. Hamza, thank you for welcoming us so warmly. We will recommend your place to our friends and family and if we come back to Oman, we will for sure visit you again!

Not much really, and only adding this as it's funny - my husband hit his head on the eave of the restroom door multiple times as it's low 😂...

Hamza was an absolutely incredible host for our stay in his hotel. We received great tips on where to go and when from him, and the home cooked dinner was one to remember. The hotel itself has a fantastic vibe between how it is painted and decorated, and of course the terrace overlooking the palms and farmland. The room was a great size, outfit with a fridge and a comfortable bed. We were at ease and relaxed the entire time.

Very nice and cozy place. The terasse was amazing, could easily sit for hours and relax. Barbecue dinner for 3 OMR was very good! Staff very friendly and helpful. Can recommend this place.

We write here only to avoid accusations of bias :) - Typical of Oman as a whole, there was no bedside table or reading lamp next to the bed. This is not a problem at all, as it is much more pleasant to spend time on the roof terrace.

The accommodation is located in the middle of a palm grove, in a quiet, fairytale-like location, away from busy roads. - We enjoyed a beautiful view from the roof terrace, where all day long you can enjoy real Omani coffee and dates. - Breakfast is freshly prepared with local food, cooked according to the guest's request. - The host is very kind to all guests, trying to listen to everyone's individual needs. He gives useful advice and ideas about the attractions in the area. He personally accompanied us on a short tour to the local rose water factory and museum. - The building and rooms are clean and well maintained. It has a real authentic local atmosphere. We got what we expected from the pictures and description. - The short stay was the most positive experience of our whole trip.

Hamza truly is a great host, he is kind and caring and obviously loves to welcome guests. The inn is located within the palm grove, which makes the stay quite authentic. My room was missing some finishing details : there were some holes in the walls that should be covered, which might solve also the second issue - insect dead and alive (not too much, but still). Electricity was down in the morning (including wi-fi), apparently due to circumstances beyond owner's control. But seems to happen more often.

The host and staff were very friendly and nice. Room is spacious. Both room and bathroom were clean with just few issues. I had homemade dinner, which was very good. Breakfast was good, nothing special, but fine. Wifi worked well (in the evening at least). Area is very scenic with a rustic charm.

Dinner was not home made as we were told, it was hard and dry. I recommend to have dinner elsewhere or order in from other restaurants.

Beautiful and peaceful traditional guesthouse in a green oasis surrounded by the Hajar mountains. A big thanks to Hamsa who was a great host and accommodated all our needs! Beds are excellent quality, warm comforters, thick towels and toiletries were luxury for such a remote area. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay.🙏

I had an amazing stay at Salam Inn! The location is perfect, being close to historic sites and fantastic hiking areas. The owner is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with happy people all around. The owner provides excellent assistance and treats guests like family, offering extra care and ensuring a memorable experience. The breathtaking views, coupled with the unique experience of date farming and an introduction to various date types, added an extra layer of charm to my stay. Great location and authentic hotel. Perfect to explore surroundings and jebel chams Rooms are basic, but clean and nicely decorated. Nice roof terrace. Breakfast is toast, eggs and apple/fruits. The owner will make sure you have a good stay and give you advice on how to explore the area. Make sure to rent a scooter from him and explore the small pathways between the palms.
