Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandNothing! Everyting was amazing! Just and advice if you want to enjoy silence - don't book when Omani's have the days off - they like to race and play loud music, so it can ruin the experience
It was an amazing experience! The tent was super clean and spacious. The view was spectacular. We asked the host to pick us up from the city and it was a good decision. If you don't have experience driving on the dunes don't even try :) The camp is bit futher from the city and you feel like you're alone on the desert. I recommend taking the dinner.

IndiaSince everything runs on solar power, they don't have AC plug points. I couldn't charge my camera batteries. The dinner 5 OMR per person is expensive. Same for pickup drop in their 4WD from Bidiyah ( 5 OMR one side. ) This should be complimentary.
Absolutely out of the world experience. The campsite is Surreal. The high tents are amazing. Wonderful view on all sides. Great, helpful staff. There's a very cute camel at the site.

United KingdomFor the cost, I cannot really highlight anything that I did not like about the property. It offers an amazing experience for a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend
The camp was in a fantastic location in the desert completely surrounded by dunes. The tents were extremely comfortable as were the beds. I slept like a baby. The outside toilets/showers were whopped you would expect from camping experience but perfectly usable and not a problem. The camp itself was very spacious and the tents were located some distance away from each other giving that feeling of isolation to some degree. The staff organised a variety of different activities which looked to be at a reasonable price. The camper staff are able to organise a transfer from a local village into the dunes if you only choose to hire a two wheel drive car. It looked to be just about possible to get to the camp with the two wheel drive car but not for the fainthearted, and would require a good degree of confidence

Czech RepublicWe enjoyed everything. We even experienced a storm in the desert. It was something unforgettable. Due to heavy rain we were asked to postpone our stay. As compensation we got a better tent. Which was very convenient due to the above-mentioned storm. For an additional cost, we had an amazing dinner and breakfast. They also offer transfer to the camp in case you do not want to drive there yourself. Just be aware that the bathroom does not have a roof.

United StatesShowering water is pretty cold especially in the night, but this is probably the same across other camps, so be prepared!
The location is great. You are in the dunes and there aren’t too many tents around. Dune bashing was fun. The food was pretty good and the staff was very kind. I would definitely recommend this camp

GermanyEverything was just perfect. The place is amazing, the staff so incredibly friendly. We were explained by a really amazing Bedouin guy loads of things about their culture and life in the desert. Loads of conforts which nearly sound like sci-fi, like being able to take a shower in the desert and charge your phone via Usb. The included breakfast was abundant and really top quality. We had an amazing day there! I would give 11 out of 10 if possible.

United KingdomNo major negative points. Very happy overall.
Lovely hosts, very responsive and gave us an upgrade. We did dune bashing and sunset tour for 25 OMR, which was a great experience. They gave us tea and donuts whilst watching the sunset. Dinner and breakfast was tasty. We were able to reach the camp with a 4x4 using google maps.

NetherlandsVery comfortable beds and mattresses which you don’t find often, the owner and staff were very helpful and we had great communication. The dinner and breakfast had many and tasty selections. We didn’t have a 4WD so we asked them to pick us up from a nearby location and return us the next day. Not a negative but something for people to be aware of. There are only USB ports for charging in the tents which is normal considering the location. We had a power bank with us so we were good for a day. We couldn’t charge our iPhones because they require too much power but again, this is normal and expected. We loved our stay, we’d definitely visit again🙂

PolandThe transfer from Al Mintarib is provided but with additional fee. There was some misunderstanding with the camp's staff on the hour of the check-out so we ended up waiting half an hour for the transport back to Al Mintarib. But the ovarall impression was great.
Great location - our tent was on the top of the dune providing fantastic views at sunrise (but not only). The interior of the tent is nothing fancy but comfortable and charging via USB is provided. Bathroom - in the desert sun or under the stars :-) Very good food. Camp is rather quiet. Additional attractions (like dune bashing or camel ride) available onsite. Friendly hosts. Bonfire after the dinner is a great idea.

ChinaI must highly recommend Moon Light Camp for everyone who is looking for the real desert experience in Oman! The tent is beyond my imagination. It was very clean, tidy, especially the bed is very cozy! We booked the dinner and breakfast as well. Trust me those are super valuable! There's a solar USB charger inside the tend so don't worry about the power. We enjoyed the sunset, sunrise. Don't miss the night starry sky! That will be one of the most memorable experience in your life!

United KingdomWe loved every minute, but we think having something to put your bag on in the tents and some outdoor chairs would go a long way! This obviously wouldn’t stop us from recommending the trip.
Such a special stay. Communication was brilliant and friendly, pick up was easy (Mintrab castle, 5 rial/car) would recommend as the drive was amazing and great to chat and take pics. Dinner was delicious (5 rial pp). Lots of activities to choose from, but we just relaxed and soaked it all in. A fire to end the evening. A quick note, we came after a rare bout of bad weather, but big thanks to the team for communication and helping us plan our trip. We also couldn’t believe how clean everything was, especially after the rain!

ItalyWe had a city car, for this reason we could not go to the desert. The hosts give you an appointment at the Bidiyah Castle and take you there by 4x4. The place is amazing and the room is clean and comfortable and spacious with breathtaking view. They took us to watch the sunset on the dunes, a very funny experience. The dinner and breakfast were also excellent and diversified. Hosts were very kind and the after dinner as well with the campfire. Also, not that expensive compared to others in the area.
