Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Amazing family-owned hotel. The attention from the owners was great, the rooms are super nice created from old traditional village houses but adapted to bring the best comfort. The food was home-made by the family and very tasty

Beautiful boutique hotel overlooking the mountains. Amazing breakfast and dinner (best food we had in 10days of hotel hopping in Oman). Very comfortable bed. Perfect for couples looking for a unique place to stay.

United KingdomWe were in a room for 3 which was comfortable with a good shower and very comfortable beds. The down side was the lack of storage, hanging space etc.
The location and staff were the stand out features. Ali, the owner, was extremely helpful and welcoming. The hotel was traditional and very comfortable. The location was out of this world.

United StatesThere is not a ton to do in the area so I wouldn't stay for longer than 2-3 days, but that's not really this hotel's fault!
Very much enjoyed my stay a this unique location, the family running it was also very kind and went above and beyond to give us a nice stay.

United KingdomLovely old house in the village of al aqr which has been beautifully transformed into a hotel. The two brothers who run the hotel and their staff are very friendly and incredibly helpful. Perfectly situated right at the start of the terrace walk.

United StatesI liked almost everything about the hotel, but just a couple of notes for future travellers: There is free parking, but it is a short walk from the hotel itself - not a problem but just noting in case you have mobility issues. There are no screens on the bedroom windows, so it is not possible to keep the windows open overnight without risking creatures getting inside. (There is an air conditioning unit, though!) We were a bit disappointed as we came during Ramadan and there was no breakfast served for guests - the hotel put together a box with some processed snacks and nescafe but it is not the same as a real breakfast and coffee - it would have been nice if we had been notified about this beforehand so we could plan. In summary, it is a lovely place to stay with a few very small things that weren't perfect, but I would not hesitate to recommend it!
This is a beautiful little hotel that has been expertly restored. It has a fabulous roof deck with breathtaking views. The staff are very kind and helpful. The rooms are quite small, but still well-equipped and very clean. It is near some lovely hiking trails through the rose terraces.

United StatesOur rooms were not cleaned after the first night. Maybe this is not customary in Oman? Not a big deal, and otherwise everything was perfect.
Very authentic and attractive inn. Our rooms did not have views, but the views from the breakfast room and the roof deck were stupendous. Owner and staff were very kind and helpful, for instance helping us plan a hike on the upper plateau. Breakfasts were especially good, with lots of variety and delicious, healthy homemade things to eat. The dinners were also plentiful and nutritious. We would very gladly stay here again.

OmanThe food can be really worked on. They are charging quite high, they can provide better quality and variety of food especially for breakfast and for dinner too. Half board is a must in this place because of its location, you wouldn't want to hunt for dinner once you are here, relaxing after sunset.
We loved everything as you can see. However the "no view" room was a bit disappointing for the price that we pay. The property is a bit overpriced but then it is understandable considering other hotels prices at Jabal Akhdar. I would support this business a little more because of its local ownership and full involvement of the investors along with the location, rooms and concept.

United Arab EmiratesThe beds are comfortable but the pillows are very hard and high and thus difficult to sleep on. The warm water was very limited for the shower. You have to switch off the water in-between as otherwise it will not last for an entire shower for even one person. As we were there during Ramadan there was no breakfast served but a breakfast box only, which I did not really enjoy apart from the fresh fruit.
The location is fantastic! Awesome views and amazing staff. The whole property is renovated with such care and attention to details. It feels like a very special and authentic Omani style place to stay rather than the 5* chain hotels nearby. The dinner buffet was very good and cooked by local Omanis. Make sure to take a guided tour of the hanging terraces - it will give you so much more information and context about the area and life there!

SingaporeWe were given a breakfast box as it was Ramadan when we visited - this lacked variety and mostly comprised pre packaged bread with spreads and fruit. Our room was located within the lobby and did get noisy at times.

United KingdomThe property is in a village with very narrow streets / lanes and there is no parking immediately next to it. They mitigate this with staff available to carry your luggage from the nearest parking spot to the hotel.

United KingdomBecause of Ramadan they served breakfast in a plastic box the night before and it wasn’t very good quality - I am sure the full breakfast service would be as good as the excellent dinner!
The renovation of these old Omani mountain villages is tasteful and sensitive. Staying here felt like a really authentic experience, but with modern luxury in the bathrooms and bedding. The young Omani owner is kind and welcoming. The dinner was abundant and delicious. You have fantastic views and easy access to the W18b Three Villages walk which is amazing.

United KingdomNo complaints!
Great location on the side of a mountain. You can follow a path from the front door to other nearby villages and enjoy amazing views along the way. The roof terrace also has great views of the valley. The property itself has been beautifully renovated as a boutique hotel while preserving the traditional stone houses, and we were impressed by the facilities. The restaurant serves buffet food made by people in the local town, which we really enjoyed. (There isn't really anywhere else to eat nearby.) Because we visited during Ramadan, the staff provided a packed breakfast for us to eat in our rooms or take away.
