Not much to say, it's quite rudimentary comfort but we don't come here for comfort.

Perfect for a one-night stay, beautiful location, easy to access thanks to the free pick-up organized by the host. Also Said is a very nice host, we had a lovely diner with him. The desert dunes are easily accessible and beautiful.

It was a wonderful desert experience in Oman. Said and his brother were so friendly and helpful. They ordered a delicious dinner for us which we shared with other guests which was a real highlight of our whole trip. The beds were comfortable and we had a great view of the sunrise in the morning

The first night we were the only guests and some friends of the host came round, I felt uncomfortable - like I was intruding on their social life.

Sandglass was exactly what it said on the tin - a basic but well located camping spot in the desert. The food was great, the hosts very welcoming and kind and a very comfortable bed for the night.

Simple bedouin tents, nice desert stay

We loved our stay at SandGlass Camp, Said is fantastic, kind and friendly. Simple traditional bedouin tents with very comfortable and clean beds. It is a small camp which we liked and they don't charge extra to take you to the camp if you don't have a 4WD vehicle and you need to leave your car at the meeting point car park. The food was very good and plenty both at dinnertime and at breakfast. The location of the camp is good and there are no other camps in the vicinity, so you get an undisturbed night sky and stars view, very nice sand dunes behind the tents that you can easily climb for sunset and sunrise views. Said took us in his car to see his camels and after dinner he showed us the stars and entertained us with talks of his travels and interesting stories and info about Oman. I highly recommend this camp if you are after a simple, genuine desert experience.

The tent was nice and comfortable with just what you need: a bed and light. The host prepared a snack with fruits, a variety of dates, traditional halwa, coffee and tea for when everyone arrived. I also got to see and pet the camels, they were extremely friendly. After that I watched the sunset from the sand dunes and had dinner with everyone else which was great with lots of vegan options. Later we watched the stars and learned about different constellations.

It's a small desert camp that offers a genuine and authentic experience. Said is a great host, very informative and welcoming. He tells plenty of stories and is an avid traveler himself. We loved the food and campfire at night. The desert itself is breathtaking.

Although the hosts are very nice, I would not recommend for girls traveling alone. Also, remember to cover your body at all times

Perfect location, amazing dinner, you get to really experience Omani's food and hospitality. It also feels very private, it was only me and my friend and other 3 guests, I made friends with them!

The best part of this basic camp are the people. Siad, the host, is a social, kind and funny person that shares his knowledge about the Omani people. The camp atmosphere is like in a hostel where it’s great to connect to fellow travellers while sharing a meal or sitting around the fire.

Said was an amazing host Caring, funny. And what a storyteller! The ride to get there is already nice. And fun fact: he's located in a valley with no other camp, hence the real felling of being alone in the desert. Look no more, this is THE place!

The camp is close to the city and many other camps are nearby, thus no silence is available, lots of traffic echoes around.

So nice small beduin camp, beds were so comfortable, dinner was very delicious, and we have water, tea, coffe and dates available all the time. Pick up and drop off from the meeting location was with no extra charge, and it is only 10 mins drive in the desert. You can easily climb the dunes around. Said is very friendly, he explained us so much about the beduin life, desert and also showed us the stars and name them!

Had a great stay here! Lovely hosts and very peaceful in the desert. The tents are cosy! In the evening we ran up the dune behind the camp for a gorgeous sunset. Did the same again for sunrise. Can 100% recommend staying here.

The night is very cold in january, also with sweatshirt and jacket so we didn't sleep very much because one blanket is not enough. I suggest to add blankets. A little lonely cat wanders around the camp, so please feed him!

Free pick up from meeting point where you can park your 2WD car for the entire overnight stay. Coffee, tea, dates and fresh fruit always available. Big and durable tent frame with lights and confortable beds. Just behind the camp, you can easily access to the golden dunes, where you can walk and see sunset and sunrise. The host has additional activities that we didn't do, and he didn't insist. Charging for phones present in the common area. We choose this camp because not too far from village. Said and his brother show the costellation and his camel with babies in their near camp.
