Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

OmanNot much activities available, at the time of stay they didn't have buggies available for rent. We had to get them from another resort.
The resort is clean and the rooms are very nice. The layout of the villas is made in a good way that makes it easy to go around. Getting there was easy. From the starting point, there are a few signs on the way, plus the track is well defined. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. They did everything to make sure we were comfortable during our stay.

United StatesI just wish there were more people at the resort when I was there. It was a little eerie being one of four reserved groups there. Also, the wifi could use an upgrade because the connection was spotty and slow. Otherwise no complaints.
They were very friendly during check-in. Separate from the resort, I had hired a private driver who attempted to extort me. Luckily I escaped the situation and a driver from the resort picked me up. Still, the driver continued to contact me asking for money and threatening to call the police. He even called the hotel several times. After explaining the situation the hotel staff were very understanding and helped to ward him off. Long story short, the staff will make you feel safe here! Anyway, they offer a range of fun cultural and physical activities to try. I did the Bedouin house tour, Sunset drive, Sand Boarding (highly recommend, good fun), and Camel ride. The food at the restaurant is good and portions are generous. The pool was nice and I wish I used it more.

United KingdomIt's a shame the resort doesn't run on solar power as you can hear the generator in some parts of the resort, I was hoping to experience the complete silence of the desert - however we were able to do this at the top of the dunes.
We drove to the resort ourselves (after a lot of research) and it was a great experience, waved at a few camels en route. Room and bathroom were gorgeous, breakfast and dinner enjoyable, we spent the afternoon around the pool and treated ourselves to a few cocktails, which although expensive were average cost in Oman. We walked up the dunes in the morning for sunrise which was lovely. Staff friendly and professional. There were spa treatments available, it would have been good to have a price list in the room. It's hard to believe this little oasis is in the middle of the desert and we enjoyed our 1 night there.

Location, middle of the desert. Really quiet. Rented a 4x4 Suv, and followed escort provided by escort(fee). If you are going by yurself, don’t forget to deflate your tires before heading into the resort. If you like to try desert road, the its a blast. Very friendly staff, good food considering it is in the desert, clean rooms.

PortugalBreakfast could do with a live egg station but was perfectly acceptable. No fresh bread was a pity. It is possible to freeze bread and take it out in the morning. This would have made a welcome addition. Same goes for the croissants.
A cut above the rest. Real rooms rather than tents. Very comfy beds. All around pool with a bar that sells alcoholic drinks. Very kind staff. A quick walk from the dunes and silence. Good overall dinner buffet and a reasonable breakfast. If you want the traditional Omani desert experience, this is not for you. But if you want all the comfort of a city hotel in the middle of the desert - with a swimming pool - then this is your only choice.

This is in a lovely location, not too far into the desert from main road. The staff are all charming and helpful. The pool is great. Rooms are spacious with effective air conditioning. Nice breakfasts. Activities worked well, we did the sunset camel ride. Great value for money compared with similar places.

OmanThe camp is very wonderful but it needs a few improvements namely 1. The accessibility to this camp was very hard. We lost our way as this lacks the signposts which were needed to point to the camp in Bidiyah. It would be highly appreciated if they can keep some more signboards to the camp along with specific instructions namely "use 4WD only", "deflate the tyres or risk getting stuck in the desert" which will be needed as most guests are not experts in driving in desert. Then we called for a car to escort for an additional cost, us towards the camp which 27 km deep in the desert which is inaccessible for the first time visitors. Even though we started from Muscat around 1 pm, after all the turmoil of difficulty to find the camp we reached the camp by 6 pm which was past the sunset, which was a must see event in Wahiba Sands. I'd rate the accessibility to the camp at a negative 2 stars 2. Contacting the property is another issue which I found very hard, they have only one phone number which no one rarely answers. We have been trying to book our trip for almost a year and we called the property and also emailed them in 2022, they had no response. Then on the day of the booking we called them to guide us through to the camp, then they did not answer us. It'd be good if the camp could give people a number in which they can be contacted anytime or on a 24/7 basis.
It is an oasis in the middle of the desert, we truly enjoyed the location, the modern villas which were on offer. It was complemented by a wonderful dinner and breakfast, which we enjoyed. I highly recommend this camp to anyone who wants to spend sometime in Wahiba Sands.
