Pool needs a little more love

Self service apartments were nice and spacious. Beds were comfortable, aircon was a lifesaver! Cooking and laundry utilities were perfect.

Unfortunately no fly screen on the doors to allow the breeze in at all times of the day.

The room was large and had great views of the ocean. The staff were friendly and always helpful. Great restaurant, bar and pool areas. The welcoming event on our first day was great to get an understanding of how to get around the island and what there is to do.

The kitchen leaves more to be desired. Full disclosure, the oven was broken while we were there (tough to replace in a remote island), however we ordered the catch of the day and prime sirloin one evening and both dishes were almost inedible… especially considering the high price, there’s way better food on the island.

The views are fantastic! Staff is extremely nice. Check in and check out are down to a well oiled science. Pool is a lovely place to relax.

The stay was good. However, the dining was over priced and not fulfilling. The restaurant really needs to fix the portion size vs amount you get. Also very uncomfortable eating a nice meal out of a bowl.

Really good, clean and exceptional. Would really recommend. Best accomidation on the island. Swimming pool was very welcoming.

Daily servicing adequate but limited eg floor not cleaned from any sand brought in and no broom to clean this up. Not a criticism but be aware, the daily servicing at the Apartment is not a five star service.

Stayed at the Apartment complex which is a couple of kilometres away from the main resort but resort facilities can be used. The Apartment complex has a small pool which is very adequate. Loved the sea view, quiet and uncrowded environment and self catering option of this alternative accommodation and would recommend.

Be good to have salt and pepper on tables and nice to relocate the many roosters who don’t realise that 2,3,4 & 5 am isn’t dawn(lol)

Lovely location, nice clean and spacious room. Small issues resolved efficiently. Continental breakfast included in room fee was a pleasant surprise. Happy hour was a great idea and we utilised this often. Manager was very friendly and responsive and the reception staff super helpful sorting our trips. thanks!

Stunning views. Their very own sea track that you can explore. Beautiful resort. Good food. Morning newsletter with ideas about what to do each day. Great location, next to Niue Blue (for snorkelling and diving adventures).

You will find food that is probably in line with the eastern diet, so burgers, a lot of fried food and a lot of meat. Also, food arrives once per week, maybe that’s why quite a bit of the fruits in the morning are canned goods. Vegans and vegetarians might want to look for alternative places to eat as there is only one vegetarian meal on the menu (+ some sides + fruit salad). We’d like to to propose more plant-based meals as they can be eaten by all (allergies aside). Also, we would like to propose more big glass containers instead of the little plastic ones (eg for shampoo or breakfast spreads) to safe plastic.

The view is simply awesome. Where else can you watch Whales and Dolphins from your room? Interior is modern, we like. :) Shuttle service from and to the airport is a big plus. Whenever we needed something, someone was there to help. An other big plus: There is a cooperation with the dive shop next door so that snorkelling gear is available at no extra cost. Fresh coconut for breakfast on some days. Fresh Paw paw on most.. :)

Lack of attention to details,went for a wedding and wasn't made to feel special at all.Not even a final congratulations good bye.Felt like a number and business transaction.Would not recommend for first wedding,as communication difficulties.Couldnt get hairdresser, makeup,nails, massage all had to be done yourself.No extra help to make day special, felt like I was in the way.Nothing special to make the day a standout everything was a problem.Was just another guest room in middle of everyone else,no extra wedding notes,welcomes,help with bags.The wedding was extra cost on-top of accommodation.Left upset and let down on what could have been my dream island wedding.

The pool area was great to relax and watch the whales swim by.

As above + unset yogurt or cream or whatever it was for breakfast. Really awful. Staff also need training to make cocktails. They tasted like mocktsils with not enough alcohol, or not enough to taste anyway.

Some of the food was almost inedible. People all over the town were talking about it. Took us 2 days to find a restuarant who could take us in as so many Matavia clients would not eat at the resort.. BBQ was okay but no range. Twice I could not see anything I would actually eat. Take that beetroot risotto off the menu! Restuarant staff could learn to smile more or remember orders. Really disappointed by the restuarant and the pool area was a really grubby area having not been cleaned up from nights before. Rooms were immaculate & cleaners super friendly. Richard the manager was a standout and a wonderful standin manager. Thank you
