Seems that Scandic is a hotell, where most stay over night on their way to North. There was bussloads of tourists over one night, this causes some distortion, and lack of food in breakfast tables. Norway is a country of fish and salmon, they export fish a lot. We stay four nights, but only on to mornings there was fish available in breakfast table, and it ended a quite rapidly. It was so harmful and a big minus.

I’ve stayed in another Scandic (Mysen), which was excellent. My room here by comparison was very tired and needing a serious upgrade. Disappointed.

Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. I’m travelling by motorbike so the Scandic’s designated motorcycle parking area next to the hotel was very good.

The free parking was tight as the hotel was packed, so some bumps against my car sides. the car spacing could be wider. There was no iron or board. The A/C control appeared to be broken, no control knob. There were no power points beside the bed.

This is a large modern hotel chain, which has all the facilities you would expect to find. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean. The beds were comfortable with noticeably nice sheets, much better than I've experienced in most places! The bathroom had a good thermo mixer shower with good pressure and volume, a slow draining sink (might need plumber work) but with good countertop space, good auto lighting with extra lighting around the mirror, and a hairdryer. The window opened for fresh air. There was an elevator, making it easier to move our suitcases to the room.

The room was clean but must be renewed. I saw that they were renewing one entire floor and I hope they do the same with all of them. Parking availability is always a problem on this hotel so you must have lucky or you might count on the public parking nearby.

The hotel is located in a central location with some options to have dinner or something to drink at night which is a big bonus. The breakfast is also good.

There is too much salt in the food served in the evening. There was also too much salt in the bread. High amount of salt contributes to elevated blood pressure, which in turn leads to increased risk for heart and vascular disease. Salt can be easily be reduced by using good produce, herbs and spices. But of course, salt is cheaper, and thirsty customers drink more beer. A hotel with the ambition to have a high-class menu, should be able to do better. Customers who cannot do without very salty food can add additional salt themselves.

Efficient, freindly staff. Nice room and lounge. Excellent breakfast. Kitchen open until 23.

The bread for breakfast was of bad quality, the room we stayed was in the old part of the hotel, and this room was… old, the bed was very soft, the entrance was hard to find (the entrance is not in the modern building where the name ‘Scandic’ stands but in the old building around the corner)

Breakfast in the morning wasn't possible under time constraints and two large coaches of German tourists being there at 6am, so unable to jump in and jump out.
