The SPA pools should be free for hotel guests and the restaurant could offer vegan options.

Located on the best beach in Noumea, amazing pool with a pool bar overlooking the beach and facing sunsets, extremely professional staff, nice SPA. Hotel is next to tennis courts, the restaurant and lawn are lovely. Rooms are spacious with a modern bathroom and fully equipped kitchen.

The food offering in the restaurant. It was okay but not inspiring. Also only Nescafé in the rooms. Most hotels I go to offer a plunger and plunger coffee.

The proximity of the beach. The staff were very helpful with arranging transportation, etc.

Spa: While the spa facilities were clean and enjoyable, we were taken aback by the exorbitant fee required for access. At 2000 francs per day per person, it felt like an unnecessary expense, especially considering it's part of the hotel. This unexpected cost significantly detracted from our overall satisfaction with the spa experience. Despite its cleanliness and pleasant ambiance, the high additional charge left a sour taste in our mouths and made us question the value of this amenity. Breakfast: Unfortunately, the breakfast experience fell short of expectations. Despite the variety, the hot food was consistently served cold each day of our three-day stay, which was disappointing. The quality of the hot dishes was average at best. Additionally, having the same breakfast options every day became monotonous, and a rotating menu would greatly enhance the overall experience. Taxi Service: We were disappointed by the misinformation provided by the reception regarding taxi fares. When we requested a taxi to a nearby supermarket, we were misled into choosing a supposedly cheaper option suggested by the hotel staff. However, upon returning, we discovered we had been overcharged compared to our usual taxi service. While the hotel staff assured us of savings, we ended up paying 1000 francs more for the same distance. Despite bringing this issue to the attention of the hotel, no resolution was offered. We advise against relying on the hotel for taxi bookings based on our experience.

Room: Our room was simply amazing! It was incredibly spacious and felt like a home away from home. We appreciated the fully-equipped kitchen with all the necessities, including a fridge, microwave, stove, and cooking pots. The complimentary tea bags and stocked fridge with water bottles were thoughtful touches. The bed was comfortable, and having two TVs and a balcony added to the convenience and comfort of our stay. Pool Area: The pool area was delightful. It was clean and well-maintained with plenty of chairs and umbrellas for relaxation. We enjoyed the convenience of the small bar in the pool where we could order refreshing drinks. Although the water temperature was chilly on rainy days, it was perfect for swimming on sunny days, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Staff: The staff were exceptionally nice and friendly, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere throughout our time at the hotel.

Music at night club near the pier was extremely loud meant we could hear very loud techno music into early morning. Also depends if room is facing in that direction... other friends who had rooms facing other directions did not hear it.

Room with kitchenette facilities exactly as described... we were fortunate to get a room with a gorgeous view! Great service from the front of house team, who helped us organise airport transfers and other day trips.. and all round lovely group of people! Loved the seclusion... we initially booked the meridien but reviews on cleanliness and service levels put us off.. glad we made the decision to switch to Chateau. Highly recommend for famililes. We travelled in a group of 13 (4 families).

We really enjoyed our stay at the Chateau Royal. Our apartment was amazing, specious and with breathtaking views of the beach. The location is brilliant. Many great restaurants around if you want to venture outside the hotel for a meal or coffee. The hotel restaurant had good food too, however, the lunch options were a bit limited. The breakfast was amazing but we preferred eating out. The hotel beach fabulous for a swim. Loved doing laps at the beach as it’s fully netted and the water is amazing. The swimming is nice too. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly. Overall, everything was fabulous. We will definitely go back.

It would have been nice to have a room with a view of the pool/garden rather than the back of the hotel next door (we were on the 2nd floor) so we could enjoy the balcony more. There wasn't anywhere to hang wet things to try except on balcony furniture or in the bathroom (it was too windy to use the balcony railing without any pegs).

The hotel pool and garden area are right next to the beach and a great spot to be at sunset. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and had everything we needed.

The only big downfall was the wifi. Very hit and miss if you could connect to it. Worked better in the lobby, pool area and restaurant, next to impossible to connect in our room on the 5th level but we were there to relax so it was a good rest from IT.

Beautiful property with lovely gardens, great pool, bus stop out the front, access to a safe beach area with nets for sharks. The staff are really lovely and accommodated us with our noisy toddler very well. The restaurant was reasonably priced for the tourist area and the food was very good. Recommend adding breakfast daily as it’s much easier to eat at the hotel then explore the island. Rooms are well equipped with small kitchen so you can cook in if needed. We did with a small human some evenings.

Breakfast was generally pretty good however it was also inconsistent in terms of what food was left/available each day. There was extremely limited gluten free options. We didn’t get to use the indoor spa pool as it was being renovated.

The rooms have been recently upgraded and were modern, spacious and clean. We had a lovely view looking out over the water. The location is great with the beach, great restaurants, a park and playground nearby. The pool was not super warm but was refreshing on a warm day.

We travelled in April so a only the main restaurant was open and not the other hotel bars which would have been nice to try. Not a complaint just a call out for travellers outside of peak times.

A great place to stay in Noumea. Sea views are fantastic and the pool right near the beach is a bonus. The semi private beach has a shark net and life guards so it is a pleasant spot to swim in the ocean. There are many restaurants and shops within a 10 minute walk and if you are not a French speaker I would suggest trying to book as much as you can (in terms of activities and day trips) before you arrive as it is not so simple to organise on the ground. The staff at this hotel were fantastic and very helpful at all times. All in all this is a great hotel in a great location.

    - Tv in room only showed French tv shows or BBC news, no option to connect remotely or log in to Netflix etc - hotel restaurant was expensive (as were the local restaurants) - make sure to go to local supermarket; 1 was a 30 min walk away or you can get the bus to another.

    - Beautiful hotel / services apartment with lovely pool area and access to the beach - large room and comfy bed - Staff were friendly - walking distance to restaurants / bus stop outside to local supermarket / other beaches - the spa was incredible- a must! - the beautiful sunset from the beach / pool area

There were no “embellishments”, such as information about the hotel and surrounds in the room, no concierge to help with tour bookings. Not a big deal though.

Can’t really do much about it, but the hotel is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It’s more like a resort. If you want to get around ask the hotel to book you some e-bikes. They are not cheap but it’s the best way to see the area.

This hotel is definitely the pick of the top of the line hotels. Right next to Le Meridien, it’s a little bit smaller and more intimate. The staff could not have been more helpful - they went above and beyond. The rooms were exceptional; great styling, near new and super clean.
