Serene location facing the desert where you can catch the sunrise and sunset. Staff were amazing especially Marcelinho at the reception . Room is very big and caters for all your needs with a desk , private pool etc

Food variety at dinner but thinking where the hotel is I am sure the effort is huge to give us the best they can.

For a hotel of this price category: The quality of the food is unfortunately below average. The staff, although very friendly and eager, obviously lacks hotelier experience. Overall, there is unfortunately no recognizable service concept. The condition of the rooms is in some cases no longer at the highest level. Especially for travelers coming from the south, the location of the lodge for a visit to Sossuvlei is only conditionally recommended.

The Desert Grace has a recognizable lovingly designed concept - particularly the very well equipped rooms correspond to the high-quality claim of this lodge in the top category of the Gondwana Brand. The private pools with uninterrupted views of the red dunes of the Namib are wonderful - especially for families with small children. The nightly Scorpion Walk is also highly recommended.

Woow, à beautiful very modern Lodge in the desert. A perfect bungalow, very modern and luxurious. The breakfast and Dinner buffet was okay, but for a 5* Lodge somewhat disappointing. The staff was not really friendly like we experienced it at other Lodge. Maybe a touch too modern in the middle of the desert? However, the sundowner drive was very interesting and we had a very good guide who explained everything about the nature and the region.

the fact that they don’t have transport from Walvis bay cause I nearly cancelled my booking because I didn’t have transport I had to spend lot of money that I didn’t budget for just to get there I think it should be communicated when we do booking that there are no public transport & emphasise the issue of booking transport & I was disappointed by the agent of bookings.com surely she knew that we are not from Namibia so she didn’t assist us in terms of getting transport

The service was absolutely terrible. It's shocking that such an expensive hotel has such poor service. The staff seemed completely untrained. One night, I asked one of the waiters which drink she would recommend to go with the food we were having, and she simply answered "maybe wine?". Yes, maybe wine. But which one? Which wines do you have and which ones go well with the food you are serving? I didn't ask these questions because I knew I would be waisting my time. After dinner, we went to the bar to have a few drinks. The lady at the bar disappeared after serving us one drink and we weren't able to order more (this happened in more than one occasion). We felt like we were an inconvenience and that they had better things to do. It was quite upsetting to be honest. When you save an entire year to go on a special vacation and then you are treated as a nuisance. One of the guided tours that we did to Sossuvlei was also an absolute nightmare! It was supposed to be a 10 hour guided tour but the guide was not a guide, he was really just a driver. Completely untrained as well. He barely spoke English and barely spoke at all. We didn't learn one thing about the trees, plants, animals, nothing. He drove us to Deadvlei, gave us zero instructions on where we should go, what time we should meet and where. He just told us to walk straight into the desert. We did that but then it started getting very hot so we walked back to where we were dropped off. The guide was nowhere to be be seen. He left us in the scorching sun for three hours without water and food. If we had a medical condition this could have been very dangerous... I was so angry when he finally reappeared that I wasn't even able to speak. Honestly I don't blame the guide or the hotel staff. It is the 100% the responsibility of the management of this hotel. Even though the hotel itself was nice, we will most likely never go back because of the terrible service.

The location was beautiful and the rooms were luxurious (air conditioner, marble bathroom, comfortable bed, private pool, etc). The view to the pink sand dunes was mesmerizing...

The staff, except the manager Frank, were not sufficiently trained and presented an absence of even the basics. This was especially so at breakfast and dinner time. The breakfast was not of an acceptable standard, the cheeses and cold meats presented were not fresh nor even suitable for a hotel of the quality sought for. Dinner was even worse, apart from the highly excessive price, (compared to the lodges in the greater vicinity) the courses presented were either over-cooked, cold and not properly presented. As an example, the base of the pizza was so soft the whole contraption fell apart upon serving. All in all, I would say there was a lack of preparation and oversight by a suitable restaurant manager. We will avoid this hotel in future, unless the mentioned deficiencies are remedied. We have resided in a number of lodges in the area whose standard, especially relating to cuisine are far superior and realistically priced.

The architecture is innovative and interior design beautifully done. The bedrooms are spacious and the plunge pool very welcome. The decor in reception, bar and restaurant area, though smart, is a bit over-the-top.
