Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaThe TV has no signal, and the staff did not seem apologetic. The bathroom sink had no water, and the staff did not help us change rooms. The booking system showed free parking, but on-site we were told to pay for parking ourselves. These basic facilities, courtesy, and honesty were all lacking. Very disappointed. 😞
The air conditioning is adequately cold and the bed is comfortable.

PhilippinesWhen I made my booking, I advised I would be an early check in..My wife and I got there at 8am and was seen by the receptionist, however we were made to wait in the lobby for 2 and one half hours before getting assistance of any kind in checking in. No good morning, no welcome to OYO, no nothing. Once checked in, we were told no TV as the owner had cable cut. The room had no hot water so I changed rooms but the bathroom in the new room had a leaking toilet and smelled bad There was a hole someone had punched in the door and the bathroom mirror had been ripped from the wall as if the last guest were fighting in the room. Lots of roaches. .I woke up to roaches crawling on me in bed during the night. There was a sign at the desk stating free coffee for guest but when I made a cup and asked for condiments I was told they were out. The OYO 218 has been my hotel of choice since 2018 when in KK once or twice a year for vacation , however the last 2 stays, especially this stay has been disappointing, very disappointing. I doubt my wife and I will book another stay at this hotel as the quality seems to have greatly diminished plus the fact that we did not feel welcomed at all. The front desk lady is not very cordial or welcoming. When we checked out, there was no "Thank You or concerns for the quality of our stay. She just sat at there at the lobby table eating. Management should really do a better job in training their staff to ensure professionalism in making the guest feel like they're welcomed and not a bother. Especially when paying money for accomodations !

MalaysiaI stay 3 nights for around RM184++, basically RM60+ per night. For me, the price can be better like RM40++ to RM50++ per night as this is OYO, a budget hotel with great facilities. I've always been staying at OYO everytime I travel and this is one of the worst one yet. So for price I can give around 2-3stars. Next is location. The location is near CP, which is a good walking distance. It is located at the center of the KK town so of you goes around several times you will find it great. But what dissappoint me was the hotel location/entrance os so difficult to find. After driving long time in hot weather, I tried calling them to ask for the entrance several time but they never pick up. I have to go around and ask (I have to brings two tired kids with me going around and ask) So for location I can also rate 2-3 stars. The bulding design is quite inconvenient because the elevator were inside the mall and at 9pm the mall was locked and if tou want to go to the other side of the bulding, you have to walk around outside the buldinf and the elevator is not all functioned. About room facilities/accomodation, this what dissappoint me the most. They said (if I'm not mistaken) the room is sound proof but when I went to get some water near the reception, my kids voice were heard. But it's okay, that is not the main problem as nobody had complaint any loud voice coming from us (its kids what do you espect). Here is the main point. They said there will be a FREE PARKING around (in public) for the customer but I have to pay quite amount of money for the parking. Can you imagine parking inside were RM10/hour at night?? So what is the purpose of having a budget hotel if you have to pay so much for parking?? Luckily I ask around and get a place for parking for just RM4/DAY at next bulding. Thank god. But there is NO FREE PARKING as they mentioned! You have to edit that back in your description!
