They shut off the power for 2 hours in the afternoon and in the morning. Both times were very inconvenient. We thought it was a blackout but when we went out to the street all other lights were on.

Really nice place to stay and close to hot springs and canopy walk

When staying in the lodge you use the restaurant in the hot springs area. Easily accessible and a pleasant short walk. The staff could do with some improvement in their English.

The lodge is perfectly positioned to enter the hot springs, literally by the entrance. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A really nice little lodge. It was better than what I expected.

Hotspring is operated by another company and closes too early at 4pm. We stayed for 3 nights but didn't buy ticket because it was too crowded, the water in pool looks dirty even though park staffs do daily cleaning after park is closed. It would've been nice if the hotspring can be opened for resort guests. Bathtub water is not heated enough.

    Near the nature

    It was as expected

Great location for Poring springs, the treetop walk and visit to Sabah Tea plantation. The rooms were comfy, clean and while being quite basic they were perfectly fine. They were well placed for visiting local nearby attractions. We did visit the treetop walkway (really good but v high!) Poring springs is quirky- we decided to enter the spirit of the locals and rented a ‘bath’ and filled it with hot water. My teens decided to have a swim in the nearby pool- it was ok. We did n afternoon drive to Sabah tea plantation - there is a restaurant there no you can do afternoon tea or other foods. ( if you want a factory tour come in the morning) we also found a Rafflesia farm and saw the elusive flowers near to the property. The walk to the restaurant at night was delightful - and the food was quite good. Breakfasts were of a good standard with lots of variety.

The location is too far from main road. The pool and hotspring have to pay enterance fee which not include in the room rental. The restorant have to enter the hot spring area.

The room was nice. Can drive until door step to unload luggage. Bathroom is big. Breakfast not buffet but have a choise for food to choose. Cereal, milk, bread, cofee & tea is free flow.

The same restaurant that served up a fantastic breakfast, also served up very average meals for lunch, with my wife's 'tom yam soup' almost inedible as it was so oily - yes, oily tam yam!

The breakfast was the best we had in Sabah on our trip. The room was large, and clean, and likewise the bathroom. The location is also great for those looking to use the hot springs or explore the waterfall trail.

The setup could be more cohesive e.g., your room comes with the purchase of a ticket into the park which covers all of the activities. The baths are not very inviting. I thought there would be a separate pool for the lodges.

The room we stayed in by the river was beautiful and well equipped for a family. Generally, the food was very nice however we suggested some more variety.

Excellent & safe location for a family vacation in the Ranau area & within Poring Hot Springs itself

    • Family with young children

The curtains at the lodge doesn't close off 100% and hence privacy in the night will be a slight challenge. The main door has a lighted "EXIT" sign that we were unable to switch off, it gets very bright at night & somewhat annoying. I had suggested to the hotel that the emergency light should be "OFF" when there is electrical power & only turns on when it has to revert to a battery source in the event of a power outtage.

We stayed at the River Lodge and it sleeps 4 persons comfortably. The lodge is next to a river, so through the night there is a gentle background noise of the river. The rooms and common areas are well lit and has adequate lighting. The showers offered a different experience & there was a hot tub available as well. The lodge could sleep another 2 persons if they are happy with the 2 couches available as well. Its located within the Poring Hot Springs itself, so accessing the other attractions nearby is easily doable. Surprising there wasn't a lot of mosquitoes in the area which was a nice bonus. We arrived very late in the evening and the staff was very accommodating to make the required arrangements for us to be able to collect the key and self check in. The Sutera Sanctuary probably offers the best restaurant (depends on your choice of cuisine) around the area that looks clean and well kept. Menu selection at the restaurant is somewhat limited but offers enough to cater for the young and old. Security is adequate & no concerns whatsoever.

Not much to say on the dislikes because I find the place to be perfect for a nature getaway with the family.

I always stayed in Kinabalu Park and I actually accidentally booked this location without realizing it was in Poring not Kinabalu Park, was worried at first but it certainly was a blessing in disguise. The accomodation is located right in midst of Poring Hot Springs (Sabah Park). I travelled with my family which include old and young kids and the place catered to all of us. The hot springs' facilities was great for the kids to swim at the new pool with slides, and my parents was able to enjoy chilling in the hot springs which provided some huts with privacy. And I being the semi young aged one was able to explore the canopy walks and butterfly farm. The rooms we booked was a reasonable size , clean and comfortable. The walk to the restaurant was a highlight for me because we get to enjoy a nature scenic view with river sounds along the way. The staff made you felt like they were your local friends that you haven't met for a long time. The food although simple was delicious! Highly recommend and will definitely book this place again hopefully try out Palm Villa on the hill :)

Small room, not much character. The restaurant could have been more welcoming, food is fairly basic and my morning pancakes were not cooked inside. It was surprising that we had to pay the entrance fee to the park as an extra and that it was not covered within the price of our room.

Close proximity to the park, clean and tidy.

There is no facility to cook for yourself in the kitchen. Only a fridge and a kettle are provided. There is however an onsite restaurant and a meal brought to the villa by roomservice was only 30 myr ( approximately £6).

The location was perfect for spending time in the rainforest. The villa was spacious and comfortable with well appointed bathrooms in particular and the staff were all extremely helpful.

Food served in restaurant was just alright, can be improved. One and only restaurant available, so no choice if you are staying over night.

It's situated inside poring hot spring, be the first to enter the park in the morning, hikes without large crowd. Spacious chalet, with 2 separate rooms, comfortable beds. Serene environment, and the sound of the river beside the chalet makes it more relaxing. Filtered water for drinking available in chalet. Great staff, very welcoming.
