Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe wait staff in the bar area ignored us most of the time. Having to wave to get attention in a five star hotel is not acceptable.

United States of AmericaShower drain was very slow. Price could have been a bit less.
Did not use the hotel dining services. Always went out to merchant Street for meals. Jordan was exceptional at assisting us with local travel tips, local sights to see, and overall help at the facility while we were there.

United KingdomNothing. We enjoyed the whole stay. Note: It did not affect us as we are relatively fit but there are about 70 steps to walk up when first leaving the hotel. Could be a problem for someone with limited mobility.
We had a large spacious room, spotlessly clean and with a large balcony. Tea/coffee facilities were topped up every day. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Location was very good with a 10 minute walk to both the bus station and the main gate into valletta. Staff were efficient and very friendly and helpful.

CroatiaWe couldn't use the balcony and had to keep its doors closed at all times due to persistent and loud technical noise (probably from hotel's cooling or pool systems). Outdoor pool looked nice but unfortunately water in it was very cold. Other issues that a 5star hotel should fix: - update toilets - fix the facade (has stains and damages in several places).
The best feature of this hotel is the indoor pool (nice, not crowded, long opening hours...). Also, location is great, very close to old city center. Rooms are spatious, staff is nice... There is a free garage for guests (the info on booking site that the hotel has no parking was wrong).

United KingdomChaos in the bar in the evening. The till kept crashing (not the fault of the staff though). My husband returned to the bar 4 times to try and pay for a glass of wine and no one would take his money as they couldn't get the till to work. No waiter service outside (which would have been nice) and the tables outside were full of empty glasses/cups etc. Eventually we left cash on the bar for the drinks.
I have stayed here before which is why I rebooked. Hotel is in a great location. About a 10 minute walk (uphill) to the Triton Fountain and bus station in one direction and similar to The Hop on/off bus pick up area. Staff in reception and breakfast room were superb. Lovely touch to be greeted with a drink on arrival. Luggage was stored for us as the room wasn't ready and this too is also a bonus. Room location was fine for one night though the view was of a wall so we didn't want to sit out on the balcony. Breakfast was superb and plentiful. We booked the hotel car to take us to the airport on departure and our driver was a lovely man. All in all, a great stay

CyprusOnly draw back was location. Although not far from city centre it did require walking up hill for some distance. Not easy when one has a medical condition. However, I believe there was a shuttle bus but this had to be booked in advance.
All the staff where helpful and very friendly. Food in the hotel was very good with plenty of variety.

NetherlandsUnfortunately the airco in low season is turned off during the night. I woke up at 1am of the warmth… open the window.. mosquitos in.. and night gone with out sleep. Hotel gave me another room but it didn’t improve as it was an internal policy to turn airco out rather then a room problem.

AustraliaLobby bar was busy and reasonably priced, the wait staff were ok but the bar staff were hopeless. No sense of customer service we were left waiting for ages for our order, on one instance we were waiting 20 mins for our drinks to advise the wait staff that we gave up and left. The lady I spoke to understood as she had been trying to get the bar staff to work quicker. The hotel is looking tired, the bathrooms need attention and the balconies with the wrought iron in between give no privacy from the rooms on either side. Privacy screens would not hinder the view if installed. The hotel is situated at the bottom of the cliff so a lot of stairs or a steep hill to walk up to get into Valletta, ok for us but not conducive to elderly, for those who have mobility issues or even parents with prams. A regular shuttle bus for the less than 2 minute drive to the top of the hill would alleviate this.
The location was close proximity to Valletta town. Located on the water, views were amazing. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very efficient with the amount of people they served every day. Couldn't fault.

United KingdomThere wasn't anything i didn't like. There is a bit of sense that the hotel seen better times, and (this is my personal sense) is cutting corners a little bit. Some of the products used weren't best quality (instant nescafe in the rooms, no fresh juice at breakfast etc) and facilities in places seemed a bit run down. It isn't a spectacular and luxurious hotel but it is very nice.
There are beautiful views from hotel over one of the harbours. Hotel's beach and pool area, are a great escape from often crowded Valetta. Room we had was specious, with comfortable bed and plenty of storage. Room service visited twice a day to tidy, and replenish water. Hotel's staff was very attentive and helpful. I ejoyed the variety of food at the breakfast buffet.
