Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Our host was amazing. Offering us a warm welcome as soon as we arrived. We had tea, followed by dinner later in the evening. A magical place to stay. Along with the warm welcome we had amazing accommodation and delicious food, all packaged in an authentic location. First rate place. Highly recommend.

United KingdomExtremely helpful and friendly host, who went out of his way to help me negotiate shopping for car parts. The property is good match for the description and photos, in a quite isolated and peaceful area. Felt very welcome from the minute I arrived.

PolandTajine was really tasty - in my opinion - a little bit overpriced (80 MAD per person, in other places we paid around 60 MAD).
Everything was perfect. Location, cleanliness, service, breakfast and dinner (very good tajine). Perfect ratio price/quality. Keep it up !

This place very different and authentic. A comfortable compound in otherwise unoccupied once oasis hamlet. Nowhere else in sight, a calming peaceful resting point. Excellent dinner and breakfast cooked by father. Totally charming.

Czech RepublicThere is nothing not to like.
We came late after midnight and the owner was waiting for us next to the door. His wife baked bread for us in the morning. They showed us the entire facility and as well picture with their sons. It was like leaving your own parents. Warm and welcoming. We definitely recommend it.

We had an EXCELLENT 3 night stay here with my family and friends/coworkers. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The entire place was VERY clean and VERY peaceful. It was such a relaxing time! We really enjoyed walking through the palm trees and visiting the nearby caves! We also LOVED the garden area, watching the stars at night AND the amazing campfire! We will certainly be back to visit Guelmim AND stay at Tarmguist!

MoroccoThese are simple accommodations, not for people looking for luxuries such as a private bathroom and premium linens. You go there for the absolute calm, the delicious Moroccan food, the sweetness of the hosts, and to imagine long caravans of dromedaries passing through here on their way from the Sahara to the sea.
The best part of Maison d'Hôtes Tarmguist was the kind, genuinely warm reception of our hosts Hassan, his wife Zohra, and his sons Mohammed and Ayoub (Hassan is very knowledgeable about the history of the region.) Next, their totally peaceful, sparkling desert oasis created seemingly out of nothing.

GermanyThe room advertised a private bathroom, which was in fact only a shower cubicle with a trickle of water. The toilets were in the yard and used by everybody else. The internet access was intermittent and only where we sat for dinner/ breakfast. The facilities were either old or broken ( no working lamp apart from the dim ceiling light.
We had a real adventure and the place felt very authentic. The owner was extremely kind and an interesting and stimulating conversation partner ( in French), who was knowledgeable about the area and the local culture. We learnt a lot. We were welcomed with the traditional mint tea and small patisseries. We liked eating our dinner and breakfast the next day under the caïdal tent. We were amazed at how much was available in this forlorn place. Dinner was a simple but delicious chicken tagine with a salad and fresh tangerines as dessert. The local oase made for an interesting walk We arrived just after a big rain, so everything was muddy and dusty, but the perception of what rain means reminded us of huge cultural differences, which is always a humbling experience for us tourists. We would go back just for the feeling of being so "far from it all" - also, the owner's welcome was great and very genuine. Better quality sheets and towels would be necessary, as well as working bedside lamps, for a good service.
