Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SloveniaIt can be a little noisy outside but they do provide you earplugs if you need to use them. I only needed them for one night but it was quiet for the rest of my stay.
When I arrived, I was graciously welcomed by the staff member Vsevolods. He got me checked in, explained everything and was incredibly nice. I immediately knew I was going to have a wonderful time. The hotel itself is so beautiful on the inside with its interior design and all the little details. There is a small lobby with a couch near the elevator that you can sit down in but the service is so quick that you don't need to wait at all. The hotel is accessible to anyone disabled because they have a ramp and also the elevator if you don't want to take the steps. The entire hotel is so clean and when you come to your room, you're met with wonderful color theme. Mine was red. In your room you are provided with: shampoo, body lotion, body wash, slippers, earplugs, towels, soap, shower cap(s) and a bathrobe. If you fancy a coffee or tea, the room is equipped with an espresso machine and an electric kettle and they even provide you with the tea. My room was incredible, it overlooked the square. There was a TV, but I didn't use it at the end of the day because I was too tired from exploring the city. The location is within walking distance of everything most guides tell you that you need to see on your trip to Riga. Seriously, you can't get better location than this! The breakfast was delicious and the workers incredibly nice. I appreciate all their hard work and I hope they know they're amazing. I wish I got their names because they deserve to be called out by name. Also the food made was fresh and they provide a lot of options if you are a picky eater. Overall, this was the best hotel I've stayed at so far. Due to its staff, its location, cleanliness, services provided and everything awaiting at the room. Also special thanks to Vsevolods. He was incredibly helpful and overall spectacular!

The location and the staff. The staff in particular is very friendly and hospitable. In particular the gentleman at the reception called Vsevolod who is very professional. The cleanliness also is very good. I will definitely be back if I return to Riga on holiday or for work.

NetherlandsWe wanted to change rooms and it wasn't a problem at all. The manager arranged a room with a view over the city. It was a gorgeous room (like the hotel, which is beautiful too), spacious, clean and stylish. The shower was a pure delight, the bed was comfortable and the couch was a pleasure to have coffee on. Breakfast is very good. It includes a buffet and freshly made hot dishes to order. We would go back to Riga just to relax in this hotel.

FinlandThe first night, we slept poorly because the room temperature reached between 25 and 26 degrees. We realised too late that adjusting the room's air conditioning controls had no effect whatsoever on the temperature. The staff was really kind and helpful, and after seeing the problem, they let us switch to a different room. (Another traveller also commented on room temperature, which indicates that the hotel should really focus more on the AC issue.) Another nuisance, although a minor one, was that the other morning, bottom-floor speakers played jazz, and the sound carried quite loudly to upper stories. Jazz is nice, but not that much on holiday mornings.
The hotel's central location was superb, the rooms and hotel were immaculate, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff was incredibly helpful and nice.

LithuaniaOur rooms had windows to the inside of the hotel and no windows to the outside. Because of that ventilation is pretty bad and it was a bit hot in the room at night. In the building next to the hotel there is a club that blasted music till 6am which disturbed my sleep a bit. Hotel provided earplugs, so that helped.
Rooms were very nice and had everything you needed. Everything was clean and tidy. Breakfast was delicious and had a good variety. Staff was very nkce and helpfull. The hotel felt very cozy and new.

United KingdomOn Sat night could hear music from the night club next door. Could be more TV channels. When booking the room- make sure you read the room description as many rooms don’t have real windows, they are facing inner hallway with a lift.
I had the room with windows facing outside and could open them. Nice view from the room. Nice bathroom with good shower & beautiful toiletries. Comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, safe, big wardrobe. Nice breakfast. Very welcoming and friendly reception staff.
