Solitary stay in a manor full of history and a priceless view!

The bed linen were clean, but they smelled a bit like they have been kept in some sort of storage facility for a very long time.

The place is quite solitary with a great view and rich in history.

Using the spacious bathroom can be quite loud, no shower curtain. Anyone wondering, bath has sort of an old school latch for plug, the plug does work. Room where we stayed needs some cosmetic maintenance, but arguably whole Krimulda Manor needs maintenance and room prices are too low to achieve it in my opinion. Commuting can be challenging for people without a car and nothing can be done about it, nonetheless we found the stay worthwhile.

Very quiet place, great scenery for Latvia. We chose the place specifically for later hike by the river. Outdoor clothing and appropriate footwear is a must, and I'd advise even in summer to be mindful about the wardrobe. Room was clean and overall spacious with long curtains. We stayed on weekend, so working days might be more lively due to floors being used by other businesses and on weekends administration leaves, meaning, you're alone in the building with or without other tourists. We didn't mind at all, administration left contacts, and we enjoyed foggy autumn silence undisturbed. First floor has building's history exposition on the walls. Working fridge and kettle with tea and microwave on second floor was also a plus. In the room we stayed fridge was unplugged along other appliances, to save electricity I guess, so advising others to check.

I booked for 3 nights and stayed for 4. I loved the experience. There were very few guests while I was there and there is no reception after 5:30 pm. It reminded me a bit of the hotel in The Shining, which added to the experience. The building is surrounded by forest and is a walkable distance to central Sigulda and/or Turaida. There is even a bus stop at the site with buses to both Turaida-Sigulda and directly to Riga. Bonus was that it snowed one day, making the area extra beautiful. Second bonus is that there is a quaint shop/cafe, Milly's, right next door.

Are you looking for a special, but affordable place to stay at? This is it. Huge room in a palace like building with COMPLETE SILENCE at night. This can be scary, but ensures your comfort also. We loved its atmosphere a lot:)

Very bad shower with no warm watrr.

The hostel is located near Sigulda, you can get there through an amazing hiking trail. The location allows for a hike to nearby skansen Tureida, which takes approximately an hour to get to. Reception was really warm and nice. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Rooms look like a 70's hospice, so quite odd :D Dorms are a bit cold, even in summer.

The hostel is in an amazing building and its summer "cottage" as they call it (the dormitory). Rooms are inside the main building and are clean, dorms are basic but I loved them for the building

There was no wi-fi. The fridge in the room wasn't working, but it was not a problem for our short stay.

We've got Paul's room, with queen size bed. It was very comfortable, the furniture is elegant. The bathroom is equipped with a rather big bath. I also enjoyed a small swimming pool for the additional price, the personnel was very helpful and nice. We were visiting Sigulda for a music event, which ended late (closer to midnight). Due to a huge crowd it was impossible to order a taxi online, so instead we walked to Krimulda - and it was a pleasant night walk! All the way to the hotel, the walking/bicycle lines are well lit.

Decor and interior not been updated for a long time. Basic facilities. I didn’t mind though.

I would like a nightlight because it was so dark in the room after hours. I would like access to main rooms and the balcony during our stay - then we would have planned to be up to watch the sun rise while drinking coffee over the Gauja.

We loved that we could stay overnight in the manor house! Everything was incredibly comfortable and spacious. We liked hiking and wandering about the town in the evening, and that there were excursions (we learned so much about plants and tea) connected to Krimulda.

A very great stay in a real 19th-century manor

This is a very affordable opportunity to stay in a real 19th-century manor. The room was very, very spacious, nice and clean, it felt almost royal. We loved how big was the bathtub - it was big enough to fit two people! :) The surroundings offer other historical buildings, a cable car and countless hiking trails. This is a very great place for those who love hiking and relaxing in nature. If you are looking for an accommodation in the Gauja National Park, the Krimulda Manor should be your choice! :)

I don't have a problem with staying alone in this huge house, but some people might do... Long walk through the forest from town (45min, nearly 3 km)

Outstanding house and location, good communication with key-keeper. Unique experience!

Do not expect a typical, ikea-like hotel. The manor itself is a rehabilitation institution, and needs renovation. Its a bit of time travel, yet we knew it upon booking and took its worn-out charm with a smile.

Friendly and attentive staff, large room. Large, comfortable bed. The surroundings are interesting - a beautiful view across the Gauja valley, park, cable car nearby.

    Beautiful old manor

Should have staff onsite for check in....no wi-fi which wasn't a huge deal but is nice to have when you need to find out information (especially since nobody is onsite), and while it was a unique experience to be the only two people in such a huge place over night, it might feel a bit spooky if you are traveling alone and completely by yourself.

Beautiful secluded location away from town, lovely grounds, cool history, huge room with plenty of hot water for a bath in the claw foot tub. Cafe next store had limited hours, so get snacks and drinks in town if needed. We were the only people staying there and there was no staff onsite, so had the entire manor to ourselves which made it a unique experience. The one downfall is when we arrived there was nobody around, the door was locked, and there wasn't clear instructions on who to contact (and we did arrive during the hours of check in that was also confirmed over email). We went to the cafe next store for assistance, but the owner was unable to help. We had to pay $10 to turn our phone on for international cell service to call the number of the manor. Definitely need a car to stay here - parking not an issue.
