How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

If you need a lift check that you are in a room with lift access as there are several buildings and not all of them have lifts.

The hotel personnel were very friendly but the Two More Beers service for the breakfast could have been more customer-friendly and polite. 15 min before the end of the breakfast time we were asked to prepare to leave the restaurant at 11.00 am sharp. It was not a matter of food service but our actual physical presence, and there was no reason for this request (like tourists coming in big groups, no available places etc) And the manner in which it was done (first in Russian language though I was speaking English) was not the best experience of my Riga trip. Other than that, I really enjoyed staying in your hotel. Thank you.

I had to ask if they could clean the room and change towels. They cleaned our friends room the second day, but not ours even we were next to each other. Some of the staff could also make an afford to put on a smile, it would have been nice.
Location was perfect! The hotel and the rooms are renovated a year ago, feels brand new. The bakery I a must to try out. This is the perfect place to stay for a few days while exploring beautiful Riga, you are in the middle of where everything is happening. Would stay here again!

My room was right next to the housekeeping service area and was very noisy during the day! Also my room was not serviced as often or as well as I would have expected.... (considering all the noise the housekeeping staff make!)

stayed for 2 nights . no one cleaned my room. no prices displayed for the mini bar or coffee/ water . one would think is free and end up paying 50 euro or more for the minibar

Super nice, modern room. Big plus for the coffee maker! Perfect location in the middle of Old town, couldn’t have been better. Quiet response room, but it didn’t bother me. Good breakfast but it is served in a pub in the neighboring house, so unfortunately there was a bad smell of beer in the premises. I missed breakfast my last day, because of an early flight, but then I got a nice breakfast to take away. Overall a great hotel with super nice and helpful staff.

The view from our room was close into another hotels room. The room was not cleaned every day
Perfect location, in the middle of the old town but in the very quiet area despite lots of restaurants and bars nearby.The room was huge and comfortable. Good breakfast and pleasant staff.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. Very pleased with everything - excellent location, cleanliness of the hotel and rooms, very good service at the reception. The rooms are large enough, the room has everything you need for a comfortable stay at the hotel. Breakfast is good and freshly cooked.Hotel offers different types of rooms in the main building and bungalow type houses. Also there is a cozy cafe in the main building.

A higher room would have been better with a bit of a view rather than just a wall. Prominent TV in room but couldn't find any English news channels.
Very comfy room and bed, really nice breakfast, especially the pancakes! and very friendly staff on reception. Lovely little cafe by reception with the best 'cruffins'. So close to everything in the Old Town.

Staff were pretty disengaged, mostly talking to each other rather than acknowledging their guests.
Great location for the old town area. Didn't have breakfast or use hotel facilities so can't really comment on those.

A very cozy hotel in the very center of the old town. It was possible to park the car 300 meters from the hotel. Excellent breakfast. Everything is nearby. There are many attractions and cafes around. we checked in late in the evening. the staff was kind and welcoming.

Room faced the front so noise of bars and noise of people leaving the bars interrupted what would have been a wonderful sleep.
