Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing about the property that I didn’t like. If I were to visit Riga again I would consider staying outside the Old Town and just visiting it as we were lucky to miss any rowdy Brits who supposedly invade on weekends.
Quiet with friendly staff and any amenity you would want or need.

United KingdomThe terrace was unavailable during our stay but we did visit out of season.
The location was excellent, central, in the old town and easy walking distance to all of the main attractions, a huge variety of restaurants, cafes and bars. The staff were fantastic, really friendly and helpful and gave us lots of local recommendations. The room was great - spacious, clean, comfortable with good facilities. The breakfast was delicious with a great range of options. Overall, it was good value for money and we would recommend staying at the Dome. We would stay here again when visiting Riga.

FinlandThere was some construction nearby, but it did not bother us much.
Staff is very professional and helpful. Due to our early flight, we arrived about 3 hours before check-in time, and we were very pleasantly surprised to be informed that our room is available immediately! Room was beautiful and very clean. Breakfast was great, and the service level was impeccable. Location is perfect. We enjoyed our first trip to Riga and Dome Hotel, and we are looking forward to our next stay!

Fabulous location in a quirky building which has been renovated with modern facilities but tastefully retaining the character. The bed was huge and comfy and the breakfast extensive. We also ate in the restaurant which is very good.

United KingdomBreakfast Service was so amateur on 2nd day it was a bit frustrating. But breakfast itself was superb.. Restaurant not open in the evening during my visit, but it’s lost its name-chef now anyway. And plenty of excellent restaurants nearby.
Key features: perfect location and oodles of character. 14th century origins of building inevitably constrain room layout but full credit to the architects for making it work. Facilities are limited to small sauna, steam room and cigar room (tiny, but could be viewed as cosy). Notable absences: Fitness facilities and a proper lounge area. But pretty much what you’d expect for 15 room hotel. Staff are notably friendly and willing, and indie ‘cool’. But regular chain-hotel visitors may find the lack of systems and staff training disappointing. Service at breakfast goes to pieces if more than five guests! Leisure tourists may happily forgive this as endearing amateurish. It’s part of the charm. Business visitors likely to find it irritating. And there’s no business centre or facilities at all.

EstoniaThree things that could have been better: The entertainment system is poor—there is no access to modern channels like Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. There are only 8 basic channels and a non-premium YouTube, with commercials, which I think is below the standard of a 5-star luxury hotel. You can reserve a private sauna, which was very nice and romantic, and they do have a steam sauna as well, but unfortunately, no bubble bath/hot tub, which would have been great. We also tried out the massage services and unfortunately were disappointed in this. 1 hour costs a whooping 100 EUR, which is sky high rate considering the average rates for the services plus the massage method left us both with bruises over our body and was actually quite painful. We were expecting a nice relaxing massage. The masseur did not seem to take it easy with pressure even when we told her to take it more easy.
Spent 2 nights at Dome with my partner. The staff is super polite and friendly. Rooms are clean and very comfy. Breakfast is delicious, and the location is great. Overall, it is 9/10, and it is one of the best hotels we have stayed in during our travels.

FinlandAll was good.
The reception staff was really helpful and friendly. The room was quiet even though it was very close to the Dome square and Christmas market, where they played loud music. The breakfast (7 to 11 pm) had a buffet and a menu to order - and they changed the menu orders according to dietary restrictions. Service at breakfast was excellent. I can warmly welcome this hotel with historical atmosphere.
