Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenThere is a seamless music system all over the place. Restaurant, corridors, even outside in the lovely courtyard. We found this elevator music very annoying when relaxing with a book in your room (you hear the music from outside…), with a glas of nice Crémant in the courtyard or in front of the fireplace inside the castle. Dear owner, please turn of the sound and embrace the silence in this historical environment.

LuxembourgYou can use the Spa after Checkout. Large room to leave your personal belongings & change would be practical. However, it was manageable.
It is a perfect getaway weekend! Room, Food & Spa were amazing! I recommended my parents to do the same & I personally would return aswell!

LuxembourgAs always, my experience for the second time here has been a 10/10. We organised my sister’s engagement ceremony and the staff has been so helpful and cooperative right from their emails to their on site support. Highly recommend staying here and hosting events here!

LuxembourgNothing as such. Just a couple of suggestions : 1. The Internet could be faster. It kept getting disconnected often. 2. There could be a charging station on either side of the bed. 3. There could be a salon/ hairstylist at the spa section so you could get a quick blow dry after enjoying the spa.
This is one of the most beautiful properties in luxembourg. Nestled a little away from Clervaux, it’s both a picturesque and gastronomical delight! Highly recommend a visit! The spa by NUXE is one of the best I’ve seen as well.

LuxembourgThe rooms were booked for us on the ground floor, even though we asked during the booking we would not prefer it. The issue with these rooms is the privacy- from the garden, where usually the other guests are walking , the rooms are clearly visible.
The place was comfortable and clean with a good food.

United KingdomMenu only average and not enough choice and creativity - especially if staying for more than one night. Felt like the dishes were prepared to challenging price points which was disappointing. Our visit 5 years ago was a better standard under this heading Hope this helps.. Would be a significant improvement if the library was open longer and served a bistro / interesting small plates menu.
Attractive, well presented clean Friendly staff

LuxembourgNo room service past 10pm despite the guide in the room saying there was a night service. Limited food available between 2pm to dinner time and there was only one menu for dinner so staying both nights meant there was no point going to the restaurant twice. Having to pay extra to use the spa at 60 euros pp for only 24 hours is cheeky considering how expensive it is to stay overnight.
Beautiful location and lovely spa. Good breakfast buffet.

SpainRoom size was average, not really outstanding. We cannot sleep because of the noise of people passing by the hall. There was a little hole in every room for ventilation which enables ambient noises enter to your room. We cannot sleep well and wake up few times during the night. Despite the Castle Room temperature was fine, heaters were off to dry your swimsuits at the bathroom. The restaurant offers very good service but very poor quantity to get your stomach full for the price you’re paying…
Nuxe spa is the best! And the staff very friendly. Bed was very confortable and the ambient is magnificent. Every detail matters and you can feel it. It was such a magic experience.

LuxembourgWe booked a 22 m2 double room, which was no more than 16 m2 (including the bathroom). It may seem silly but when it comes to hotel rooms, those few square meters make a huge difference, especially for 2 people staying in 1 room. Moreover, it was on the top floor so the ceiling was cut because of the roof, so overall it felt very claustrophobic. Out of all the pictures of the double rooms, our room was like the one cropped picture where you can barely see anything. The view was not on the garden, despite the room description. We could look into people's houses across the street. The pool is much smaller in reality than on the pictures but it was still alright to swim in as long as there were no more than a few people inside (otherwise no place to swim). Now to the most important point - the spa. You would think that the high prices for a night in this hotel are due to the spa. Well, the joke is on you. The spa is not at all included. It costs 60€ per day per person, or 0€ if you get a massage/treatment in the spa, and those start at 110€ per person. It is not written in the hotel description and you would have to read the details on the castle's website, or find this out only after your booking. There are so many spas in this country where you pay more or less 20€ for a whole day and you can stay until almost midnight. They are very well-kept and relaxing and they have 4-5 saunas, hammams, jacuzzis, cold baths, etc. The Urspelt spa offers not much more than 2 hammams, 2 saunas and it closes at 19:00... Lastly, the hotel has a restaurant with a menu where you don't know what you will be getting... a 1 course meal starts at 35€ and other courses only go up. Overall, the stay was very disappointing, even despite the cleanliness, delicious breakfast and a great staff. It is in the middle of nowhere, so it's one of these hotels you book to stay in the hotel all the time.
Breakfast was delicious, and the castle and the area around it were really pretty. The staff was very nice and friendly and the hotel was very clean. The hotel bar was very nice too, underground and with a charm and professionally made drinks which tasted really good. Heated water in the pool was highly appreciated.
