The reception during the day is not really functional. There were 2 ladies hanging around but the service was a bit slow.

The receptionist at the night shift (practically the one dealing with most check ins and check outs) was very helpful and professional. He also serves as a guide and you can arrange trips in the nearby UNESCO sites with him. I must note I had a single room with attached bathroom though so the experience in shared rooms must be different.

On the first night the hot water was no working and the hotel said that they could fix it the next morning which I understand. They said that they could pay back 3% for that problem which I felt like a joke.

Pool table could do with abit of tlc, shower in en-suite wasn’t very powerful but in the shared bathroom a lot better. We booked a sleeper bus with the hotel and we had a nightmare with them, our bus broke down after 17 hours (was only supposed to be 12) and was left stranded with we no one that spoke English. The driver was very rude. However Tiam was on WhatsApp checking that we had arrived safely however we had still not arrived to our next destination by then. Although it’s not the hotels fault I would highly recommend the hotel to use a different company when booking guests for onward travels. I will insert pic of bus.

The cutest beagle in the reception area, I could have stayed all day with him!! Guys on reception were so friendly and went out of their way to help us. Pool table in reception and connect 4😁 also good that there was a water refill station!

Private room for 1 night was very spacious. Not an ensuite but the bathrooms were clean and it was nice to have a separate toilet and shower. A/C worked great. Wifi very good. Good location though we didn’t do much in Pakse, just a stop over. Would stay here again

Amazing employees, very attentive. The hotel has this unique setting, where it's partially a pub for backpackers. Despite our short stay, we really liked the central location, comfortable rooms, and 24/7 check-in. Employees were very kind and willing to help. It's a great stop-over during your trip to 4000 islands.

The rooms were a bit too hot, AC didn't work very well. There were mosquitoes everywhere. Cleanliness could be better too.

Despite appearing like a social bar space in the photos, there is not much atmosphere in the common areas — unfortunately I think that’s just because Pakse is a short stopover for most.

The dorms and bathrooms are nice, fun to have a pool table and a nice large common space

No where outside of the bedroom was air coned so it was boiling everywhere especially the bathrooms as there was no extractor fan, also there was a slat missing from the bed which made it uncomfortable. There isnt much to do in pakse but that isnt the hostels fault

Communication: Back then we met one of the local staff whose did not speak English which caused the delay of check-in process and miscommunication and miscalculations of the room prices. Room: Some of there room are large and some are too small.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The vibe is great and they offer an affordable price room.

The bathroom and showers were not clean enough and a bit smelly.

The staff was one of the best I remember in any hostel I've been to. They were so friendly and so helpful and this is the main reason I recommend this place. I like the fact that they provide free water to fill your bottles, free tea and free coffee.

In Pakse there's not much to do and the same is to say for the hostel. There is no food available and there is not a really great ambiance in the lobby.

Good place with nice rooms and good, clean bathrooms. The beds are comfy and in the lobby is nice coffee.

We got a private room with shared bathroom and the rooms were clean, spacious and had strong AC. The staff are really nice and helpful. The lobby area is nice as well. Walking distance to lots of food options!

The room could have been a bit cleaner and as it was furnished very basic, we missed a closet or some storage to put our clothes in. We stayed on second floor and had to use to bathroom on first, so it was a bit uncomfortable to go downstairs at night. Wifi was not really working on second floor, so we had to go downstairs for better (or any) connection.

We only had a short stay at Empire hostel, but in generell enjoyed it. It‘s located just right at the center of Pakse with many shops and restaurants within walking distance and it’s also only a short drive to the airport.
