Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bedroom looked empty & as a double room it only had 1 chair - needed at least 1 more, if not a sofa, and a small table would be nice to eat off. Room had a damp smell - traced to the roller blind on the window in the shower, all they need to do is drill tiny holes in the plastic strip at the bottom of the blind to let the water drain [and a steeper window ledge would help]. Breakfast was cold, despite having stay hot bowls, the eggs were just tepid.
New building, nicely tiled. Nobody used the gym while I was there. Tipsy Elephant [rooftop bar] was good with a sunset view over the river.

SpainAt the check in they ask me for 500.000 KIP as deposit, which I didn’t had and offered to block it from my credit card but it was not possible. Finally the kept my passport although they gave it me back when I ask the day after because I need it. This should be informed in advance o be part of the conditions.
It’s a convenient place. Facilities are fine. Nice rooftop. Breakfast average. Nice location. Rooms are quiet.

Spain- Transfer to the airport is $20 (it should be free for the price you pay for the room and this is the norm in Laos) - Price is not competitive given there is no wow factor that is offered in similarly priced places in Laos (welcome drink, no personal touch in terms of places to eat/visit etc).
- clean, spacious and well-lit room - service at breakfast and upper terrace for sunset - shower water pressure was good and water warm

United StatesOddly, after checking in and giving credit card information, they wanted a $30 US cash deposit for the room. I only had $25 in US currency and they accepted the lesser amount. This deposit was returned at check out, but I travel reasonably frequently and have never experienced this. I just found it a bit strange and something to be aware of before arriving.
Excellent location overlooking a very busy nightlife street, but the room was very well insulated from street noise and quite comfortable.

ThailandOctober 27 - 29, 2022 room 802 Easy check-in. The hotel wanted to bill me in US$, but not being American it would mean 2 conversions - kips to US$ and US$ to my currency, i said no. Also they requested a 500 000 kips cash deposit , no credit card. The room is very clean and very bright having large windows on 2 sides. The hotel is new, and is located steps away from the river-side market and a short walk from the other. On the bed there was a letter addressed to me, a nice gesture. Bed very comfy. In the shower, water pressure too low and temperature inconsistent. the hot!-cold mixing system does not function well,it keeps switching between cold and very hot, we asked for someone to fix it. But no one came. Breakfast, a small combination of western and Lao food, all served cold. There is a made-to-order egg station. On the first morning the orange juice and the braised duck were excellent. Second morning fried rice, sauteed ground pork, and dumplings all pretty good. Third morning excellent curry and exceptional 3-fruit pastries Coffee could be better, a bit too weak. A special thank you to the friendly , helpful and smiling Breakfast personnel for an great job making guests feel welcome. WIFI At first you have to enter WiFi login info and password over and over again. Fast problem-free Check-out. Overall a good but not great stay. N B. Email communication needs to be improved. Twice i contacted the SureStay to obtain information about a major local situation, not related to the hotel , but I never got a reply. A simple (sorry but we cannot help) note would had been appreciated.
