Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumSome communications issues with the staff + WiFi problem which they did not allow us to leave causing us to miss our train and we had to buy new tickets for our travel even though we mentioned multiple times we had a train to catch.
A very relaxed environment and stay, clean and aesthetically pleasing. Very nicely decorated.

AustraliaThe bed was firmer than our preference and hot water took a while to come in but these were minor
We were so well taken care of here, we went in May which is already quite warm and considered low season so the hotel was quiet with only a handful of guests and such a peaceful sanctuary. Our room and the hotel is kept immaculately clean and is on a side street so nice quiet location with only a short walk into town. We had great aircon in our room which we needed in May! The hotel is also gorgeously styled and such a lovely place to spend some relaxed time. I would recommend 4 nights at least to truly enjoy the place!

The hotel and property itself is absolutely beautiful. Being a small boutique hotel, it never felt overcrowded. The rooms are large and very clean, with working AC. The pool is wonderful and a great place to beat the heat and relax. The staff were excellent! They were beyond friendly and always ensured that you had everything you needed. The breakfast every morning was exceptional. The location is wonderful, being walking distance to the town and night market, but far enough away to avoid the noise that comes along with the main attractions of Luang Prabang. I highly recommend Hana Boutique Hotel, and I am already looking forward to my next stay!

IrelandJust wish we could have stayed forever !
Absolutely everything about our hotel stay was perfect! The hotel and pool were gorgeous. It is well maintained by staff who cleaned the pool daily and ensured the communal areas were spotless at all times. Our room was also cleaned daily. The staff couldn’t have been nicer - we mainly dealt with Souliya, who always went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. There was a lovey peaceful ambiance in the hotel largely down to the excellent location (down a lane way off a quieter road) but also due to how calm and relaxed the staff in the hotel were. Although the property seemed like it was in the middle of the countryside as it was so peaceful, it was actually only 5 minutes walk to a main road with restaurants, supermarkets and coffee shops and only 15 minutes to the old town. The hotel had bicycles which guests can use for free and it was a nice way to see the town! The breakfast was excellent. I have seen some reviews that it was slow service at breakfast but I’d have to disagree. Immediately upon sitting down, we were served tea/coffee and shortly after the fruit/yoghurts/bread were brought. Eggs were prepared fresh and came a little while later but we were never without food and to be honest I preferred having time to eat each part of the breakfast instead of feeling it was all served together or having to serve myself at a buffet which other hotels do. I think the hotel had an excellent system for breakfast whereby we could order what we wanted each evening for the following morning. We had an amazing stay in Luang Prabang, largely due to the hospitality we received in Chic Stay HANA hotel. I would 100000% recommend others stay here!

PortugalIf you're looking for a slice of paradise in Luang Prabang, look no further than Chic Stay Hotel. From the moment we stepped into this beautiful villa, we were enchanted by its marvelous ambiance and attention to detail. The well-tended garden and inviting swimming pool added to the charm of this boutique hotel, providing a serene retreat from the bustling city. But what truly sets Chic Stay Hotel apart is its exceptional staff. Souliya and Jacky went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was nothing short of unforgettable. From assisting with motorbike rentals to recommending the best local restaurants and attractions, they were always there with a smile. Without a doubt, Chic Stay Hotel has left a lasting impression on us, and we can't wait to return.

ThailandMy stay @ Hana was really pleasant!….this small boutique hotel could be exceptional with just a few add ons! I honestly believe that 1 staff member can ‘t possibly take care of the breakfast and check out!…… which creates an irritation…. The staff compliment needs attention!… The evening staff is also only 1 person… Although both these staff members tried their utmost to keep guests happy…. It’s a little unfair to them! There was a massive storm and caused an electrical failure of mini bar…. This was inconvenient!…. However the staff tried their best to assist! I came back in the evenings and would love a cold glass of wine!…only to find they served warm wine! As I said a few small changes…. Cold wine!…. Maybe served with some nuts!… overlooking the lovely garden… candles(not burning) would change this to an exceptional Boutique Hotel!…..
This was really a pleasant stay!….. the room was light and airy…. Fresh and clean with really calm decor….

United KingdomThis isn’t really a dislike but the hotel was a little further away from the centre/river than we would have liked. However this was only a 10 minute walk so was not an issue at all.
Amazing staff who took care of us really well. Beautifully decorated and very clean. The breakfast was also superb.

ChileThe only downside to this amazing place is that there were two windows in the room, the one on the door and the one in front of the bed which led to the stairs, that didn’t have curtains, so the light came in. That said, it is a minor issue compared to all the other amazing qualities this hotel has.
This place is amazing. Beautiful, clean, peaceful, the staff is extremely nice, I would stay here again without a doubt if I ever came again to Luang Prabang. And the breakfast is excellent!

GermanyNothing to complain about!
It’s a beautiful boutique hotel with lovely attention to details when it comes to the home decor (they should open a little shop within the hotel to sell some of those items :) ). In the bedrooms we particularly liked the bathroom, which was very spacious and had an outdoor shower on top of the indoor one. The overall atmosphere of the place is super peaceful, we were pretty sad to leave. Additionally, the staff is very patient (we had many questions and they helped us a lot!)

JapanLove this hotel!! I’m definitely coming back again! - modest and gentle staffs - welcome drink and fruits - good shower and toilet (Japanese brand TOTO) - bath amenities (no toothbrush and slippers, but it's common) - hearty breakfast, which you can choose every night before - free bicycle, swimming pool and bench Note: The room have no TV, but thanks to this, we really appreciated the stay in Luang Prabang.

United StatesThe bed was very hard. And, breakfast has to be ordered the night before and was often slow in coming. On our first night only, we had a slow drain issue in our shower that was caused by too many people showering at the same time. We were unlucky but it only happened that first night. Also, as a new hotel, many tuk tuk and taxi drivers didn’t know where they were. Not the fault of a new hotel but something to be prepared for.
The pool was perfect to relax in during the heat of the day. The staff were all excellent, helpful, and personable.
