Bountang Mountain View Riverside Hotel has beautiful scenery, but the overall experience was just average. The rooms were clean, and while the staff was polite, the service was slow at times.

Mattress was too small for the bed frame so there was a large gap down the side and the breakfast was quite basic.

A walkable location from the bus station, restaurants and bars. The staff were very helpful and arranged both paramotoring and air ballon ride for me.

Horrendous smell constantly coming from the bathroom drains, and large gaps in the balcony door so lots of mosquitoes got inside. Pillows were huge so had neck ache but the bed itself was comfortable. Breakfast was not great

The balcony door didn’t close properly. They tried to fix it but couldn’t. Thankfully no bugs or gekos got in!

Good location, close to nice restaurants and only 7-10 minute walk from busy bars and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast each morning. Smart TV also with Netflix which was great!

Bathroom was underwhelming. So what if the pool is across the street. It’s like a 5m walk?

Sunset views are unbeatable in Vang Vieng. We were the only ones taking advantage, and had the whole top floor patio to ourselves every night. Beds are comfortable. AC is strong. Breakfast was decent. Very good value hotel.

The small pool was used by two hotels, there where just two sunbeds and no other possibility to lay down. So relaxing at the pool in the sun was not possible. Even though booking requested a payment in local currency at the hotel in the booking confirmation, the hotel requested USD when I arrived. For paying in KIP the conversion rate was 10% worse then elsewhere. This is really an issue!

Booked a room with a mountain view for a little more and it was worth it. Amazing view! The staff was allways very friendly and helpful booking tours. Breakfast is simple (eggs to your choice, toast, margarine, jam, watermelon, instant coffee, tea) but sufficient. Quiet location just in the morning market street, but near all bars and restaurants.

Staff were sometimes quite difficult to communicate with, when booking trains we had to remind them a few times about dates etc.

Everything is a bit slow to get stuff done. Had 2 ask twice for our light to be fixed as the bulb had gone and took a day but they still did it. Not many breakfast options. Beds quite hard.

Brilliant location, clean and big room. The new guy who had just started was really lovely and helpful. Breakfast was okay. Can book tours with them easily and we did laundry with them which was reasonable.
