    It was all good.

Loved this place - the atmosphere, the location, the staff, and the food. We had a very comfortable one-night stay. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    None.

Central location. Staff were helpful and kind and spoke good English. The room was super clean, spacious and warm (in a cold December night) Shower hot water and pressure was good. Speedy wifi. The included breakfast as well as tea and coffee in the their coffee shop was excellent with very cosy interior design. A large common area is accessible to all guest with fridge, microwave and kettle. It was quite and calm. I would stay here again.

Our room was on the ground floor and was overlooking a rather busy street. No way to open the window. Furthermore, the owners "cancelled" our booking reservation after we have paid and checked out to avoid paying the fee to booking.

The hotel was nice. The room came with all needed amenities, but some things were not properly affixed (e.g. wibbling toilet). The breakfast is not included and you have to pay extra.

The dorm is a 12 person one, but each bed has a curtain to give you privacy. Each bed also has a plug and a spot to put you phone while you sleep. The kitchen was decent and the common area is nice. There is a whiteboard where people can try to organize activities together which is great. The staff are also friendly and helpful!

Our room was fed from the solar hot water system which meant some of our showers weren’t as warm as we’d have liked after a long day of hiking.

Staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful during our stay in Karakol, helping us to plan a number of day trips around the area.

    - lack of care for details, e.g. broken lamp in bathroom, several power outlets not working, broken furniture in bathroom, adhesive film still attached to window frames, door keyhole a bit tricky, random-styled furniture, an so on... - zero noise insulation. - no blackout curtains. - the sand... toilet paper. - it can be cold even if they provide an electrical heater. - price for private rooms a bit expensive considering the average in Karakol (almost the same as 4* hotel).

+ the real strenght of this family-managed property is the kind and helpful staff, they can provide you a lot of ideas for activities and excursions. Also the book at the reception is quite useful. + good wifi. + good atmosphere & hostel mood. + good cleaning apart few things (wc could had been cleaner).

Staff was super friendly and helpful, not only when it came to organising our multi-day hiking trip to the mountains (booking the yurt camp, storing the stuff we didn't need). When asked, they immediately organised a cab for you, not to mention their great English, which made communication super easy, and, in general, their positive attitude. The facilities were super clean and comfortable (especially the garden/yard was great for hanging out), and the integrated café is highly recommended as well. All in all, a great place for staying while discovering Karakol and its surrounding mountains.

A bit far from downtown area and bazaar maybe

One of the best options in Karakol. Nice bar for meeting other travelers. There is another cozy living room, a bit more quiet, useful when I needed to have work calls. Very good internet, totally suitable for working remotely. The blackboard for finding other travelers is a great idea. The owner helped us with taxi to Karakol Valley and book yurt camp in Ala Kul. Nice garden area

Amazing hostel with good facilities, I really enjoyed my stay here, awesome place. The staff is very friendly and helpful with everything, they even helped me to book a flight because my creditcard didn’t work. The food is amazing especially when you come back from hikes or the countryside and want something else then Kyrgyz food. It is very clean and the atmosphere is great. The common room, restaurant and garden are very nice to meet some new travel friends. Very good information, they arrange your taxi and they do everything for you to have a pleasant stay, they even knew my name! I really recommend this place, you can relax, have some good food and drinks. If I come back to Karakol I definitely will stay here again. Thanks everyone from Duet Hostel!

    Nothing. It's perfect.

I had a great stay at Duet. The place is spotlessly clean, the dorms are comfy and so are the yurts. The food is amazing ( try the glorious beef strogonov) and the staff do their very best to make you love the place. They have a very informative folder with local attractions and hints on how to get around the area. This is absolutely THE place to stay on Karakol.

This is one of the few places that kind of felt like a Western bubble within Kyrgyzstan since all\most of the people staying here were Westerners and even the music played was almost all in English.

The adjoining cafe is the cool hangout spot for trekkers. If you want to join up with others, this is probably the best place to meet like-minded people. This is one of the few places that kind of felt like a Western bubble within Kyrgyzstan. The private rooms each have a private restroom too. I never stayed at the hostel portion.

I stayed here for three nights at the end of July to see friends before heading off on another adventure. Duet hostel is perfect, the hostel has good cooking facilities and a clean dormitory. There is alsoa cafe & bar next door where you can enjoy a beer and a meal with a selection of European and local dishes. Town is only a 10 minutes walk away and has several supermarkets. The staff are excellent and very knowleadgeable regarding transpoert connections and hiking in the area.
