Phenomenal experience!! My family visited for R&R and had an absolutely fantastic experience. Stayed in Japanese-style suite. Kaiseki dinner and Japenese breakfast were outstanding. Service was very attentive, helpful and efficient. Both open air room and private session thermal baths were awesome. Fantastic value for price. Would stay again.

Absolutely loved our stay. The staff was so welcoming from our very first interaction. Check-in is a lovely process where you sit on comfy couches and staff walk you through your reservation, explain the facilities, etc. Our room was very nice and came with nice amenities. The rooftop mineral baths are spectacular. The meals (we opted for dinner and breakfast) are a MUST. They hosted a bingo night while we were there with prizes. Such a fun experience. We would definitely stay there again.

The fittings in property are becoming a little dated in look and feel now. But that’s part of the charm, in a way.

Lovely traditional Japanese decor and spotlessly clean. Very relaxing onsen with a great range of product. The meals were incredible - ready yourself for a feast!

Rooms we were given did not have a view of the lake. Would have also liked to have a late check out. But these were very minor issues compared to all the positives offered by the hotel.

Beautiful rooms with private onsen and excellent meals. We were given more delicious food than we could eat! Service was also exceptional. Loved the yukatas provided to guests.

Room too hot

Kaiseki dinner and breakfast included with our stay was innovative! The room was beautiful (though in our room there was no temp control so a bit hot for our comfort). Other rooms had mini splits where there is adjustable temperature. The hotel was beautiful and amenities were outstanding. Staff was lovely.

I'm very happy with our decision of choosing this hotel for our stay near Kyoto. It's only about 20 minutes away from the city and you can see lake Biwa from the room and the attached outdoor-bath! The staff was incredible, super friendly and quite proficient in english. In the basement there is a small arcade, and there was a (free) bingo event in the lobby, both of which where a lot of fun! The food was delicious and the room was one of the biggest I've seen in Japan. All in all it was an amazing experience and we will definetly visit there again if we get the chance!

It’s a little out of the way and not much amenities located around it such as attractions or shops. However they provide free shuttle bus in the morning to various stations and also you can arrange for shuttle bus to pick you up at two JR stations close by
