We had a beautiful room at Mikuniya - our nicest in Japan. Spacious, with lovely wood finishes and a fine bathroom. The included dinner was lavish and delicious. The Japanese breakfast was also delicious. Kinosaki Onsen is a delightful town to visit if you enjoy the Japanese onsen. One night there was not enough.

It’s not about the property, more about what the staff should do to make it even more meaningful for tourist. When they give out the onsen access, they should let tourist know that there is a map that they can buy so tourist can collect onsen stamps for example. Other than that, it’s great

Lovely, surprisingly quiet, didn’t hear any other guests at all despite the traditional building. Futons were comfortable and cozy, good food and a lot of it. Loved the onsens, the ones in-house and around town.

The staff were really supporting and caring, we felt very welcome and happy during our stay. The private onsens are really top of class! The Ryokan is close to the train station, and close to the main street. We really enjoyed everything in this place, would recommend it to everyone. We were travelling with a 3 year old boy, he was having a blast! Amazing!

2 of the 4 in-house onsens were better than others, but the largest one shown in the photos (front photo) never had availability during my stay even during early morning, it was a very big pity. reason might be partly due to the lack of personal bathrooms for 2-people rooms, so availability is worse off compared to other similar ryokan experience,

We absolutely loved our stay at Mikunya! The staff are so incredibly friendly and the food served for both dinner and breakfast was superb. The private onsens are beautiful and the ryokan’s location is perfect proximity from the station and main onsens in town.

There was no option to not include food and while the crab dinner was delicious, the rest of the meals contained too much food and were a bit overwhelming. One of the windows is the room was a bit broken which meant it didn’t shut fully and let some bugs in.

The room was good. The staff are very lovely and try really hard to explain things despite limited English. One of the private baths is very modern and truly a wonderful place to relax. The location is very central and a close walking distance to absolutely everything.

Nothing in particular. Theres no shower inside the ryokan but we didn’t need one as you wash yourself around the onsen.

They staff was very nice and accomodating. I was running late and could have missed dinner but when I messaged them earlier, they were very understanding. Yukata was nice but confusing to wear which the staff gladly helped with. Futon was very comfortable, good location right next to the station. Good food. There was also quite a bit of stairs to go up but the staff helped with our luggage which was great.
