they cant help it but ocho rios seems to charge a lot of fees and taxes that add on to price. Not their fault.

Love the pool and the overall vibe of the place. Very upscale look. Bathroom was very modern and everything was clean. The bed was nice and soft and the room was modern. Great internet and Television. The food is great her and the staff goes above and beyond.

I love having a cup of tea during the day. Tea / coffee station in the room. Also a mini refrigerator would have been great to have. Bigger tea cups!

The Sago Palm hotel exceeded my expectations in everyway. Located in the heart of every thing. Getting out and around was easy. I traveled alone and I felt safe when I went out. Lots of shops and restaurants around to sample the local delicacies and feel the true spirit of Jamaica. The staff at the hotel were all phenomenal! Great food that came piping hot! Clean and well maintained rooms and surroundings. I can't fault anything about this hotel. I am very happy that I chose to stay there and will return and proudly give my recommendations.

I can't think of any improvement except possibly for an elevator.

I have a medical problem if I have too much salt, your chefs went out of their way to be sure that I was able to enjoy all of my meals and not have to worry. That made our stay in Ocho Rios so much better. I would recommend the accommodations and the food to anyone.

Repairs needed to be done, small

Booked a queen room - was given a small room with no windows in in. There were incomplete repairs, holes in the wall, broken toilet seat, tiles lifting on the floor. Not worth £200 at all. When I complained, the lady on reception was not helpfull and said this was the only room availble but she was lying.

The Front desk service was poor and there was no entertainment or spa as listed online as a part of their offerings.

The food was great! The dining staff and housekeeping staff was courteous and polite. Thanks to Katherina and Savay for making our experience a good one. First impression (which was terrible) does last but the service from these 2 ladies were remarkable! Thank you, ladies.

1. Extremely noisy, you can hear music from the bars till 2am 2. Overall clean but we have seen a cockroach in the bathroom. It's not the first property we have seen roaches in Ochi, and some people told us that RIU in Ochi has them too, so seems like the issue in the area, as we haven't seen any in Negril on Montego Bay. 3. Rooms are dark, as there is no proper windows. However, there is a tinted glass onto the corridor but without blackout blind the light comes through at night 4. Kitchen took 1 HOUR to prepare our breakfast even though there was less than 10 people dining

1. Staff is friendly and welcoming 2. Management acknowledged our complaint that we had worst night ever and made it up to us with a free transfer to the bus station. Hotel director drove us who is very lovely. 3. Modern and new 4. Rum punch on arrival is a nice touch TIPS FOR OTHER TRAVELLERS: 1. Always pay in Jamaican Dollars either cash or card. Exchange rates aren't regulated in Jamaica so individual business can charge whatever they want in USD. And the difference often is huge. I.e. bill at Mongoose in JMD was equal to $24 at the current exchange rate but restaurant was presenting it at $38. So if you pay in JMD you won't be ripped off 2. Download InDrive app to use local route taxis ONLY THOSE WITH RED PLATES as you can pay then what locals pay and not 5 x mark up for tourists

I was in Ocho Rios for a 1 day business trip and booked Sago Palm due to the close proximity to where I needed to be. I was hoping for a clean, decent room. Sago Palm went well above that! The staff was professional and courteous. Checking in was a breeze. The room was clean and beautiful, I loved the tropical spa-like feel of the decor. The bed was so comfortable, I slept like a baby and the food was delicious. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I will be returning to Ocho Rios with my family soon and I will be staying at Sago Palm!
