Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI liked the property, and must admit the services was good, the staff was professional, but for all inclusive I think excepted more, eg there could be on site entertainment, such as a live band/performances with local talent for a weekend, food was good, yet needed more variety that’s my recommendation
Proximity to the beach and other local fun spots

United StatesThe room lacked enough lighting. The internet connection was unreliable.
I thoroughly enjoyed the food options; everything was delicious, and there was a diverse range to select from. The menu featured local Jamaican cuisine, which I particularly appreciated. The entertainment activities were enjoyable, and the staff was very accommodating and nice. Loretta stood out for her kindness and excellence in ensuring solo travelers felt included in the activities. She was truly the highlight of Deja. Keep shining bright, my friend!

United StatesThe only bad thing, and the worse thing, was the food in the dining room. It was definitely not worth the extra price for all inclusive. I tried breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am Jamaican and felt embarrassed that a tourist would eat all their meals there and think that Jamaican food is bad. The food was extremely bland, chicken was red next to the bone... undercooked, the pepper pot soup seemed to have lost both pepper, salt, thyme, and all other seasonings. The fish chunks... fried dry and recycled for two days under different names such as brown stewed and also escoviched, but again without the "esco" or the "viched". Inedible both times. There were American type food options such as french toast, eggs, etc., I didn't sample those. Salad and fruit selections was fresh.▪︎Bathroom: Was modern and remodeled nicely, towels good quality. The only thing was no hot water in the shower, even after leaving it running for a few minutes. ▪︎Incidentally, this is the old Gloucestershire Hotel which is now Deja Hotel with updated rooms. Some other areas need work. If they fix the food situation it would be worth the money otherwise no.
The entire staff at Deja was awesome and very accommodating. Check in and out was smooth. Airport transfers were an additional $15 USD each way. ▪︎I asked for a room with a balcony and facing the sea. I was told that those rooms were a downgrade from what I booked and the amount would not be refunded if I changed. I was given the choice to see the new room before I changed it... I thought this was very nice of them to offer. I didn't mind that I wouldn't be refunded the difference. The room facing the sea also faces the street but was VERY QUIET, no street noises, and had the most beautiful sunset view on the water. There are also nice open patios on the second and first floors were you can relax and view the sunsets or sunrise. ▪︎▪︎The close proximity to the airport is great, and Starbucks is directly across the street, as well as the famous Doctors Cave Beach, which is free for hotel guests.▪︎There is nothing else really to do with in walking distance except rows of souvenir shops run by Indians and all with identical items.

United KingdomThe lunches were not nice, and there was only ever one option for a vegan diner. Therefore, if the vegan meal was particularly bad, the only other option was salad. I also never had dessert as I was promised that a vegan alternative would be purchased, but this never happened. I wish I could have accessed the cafe area too however there were no vegan sandwiches, cakes or ice-cream therefore I don't feel as if I got to experience the full advantages of an all-inclusive resort as I was not catered for. I think it would have been nice to be told that there was a Grill area and that hotel guests can freely access Dr's cave beach daily. I only discovered these things towards the end of my stay which was quite unfortunate. I'd have like it more if there were light snacks available and more fruit. The salad bar was limited and the "garden vegetables" were overcooked and bland.
I liked that one of the chefs would make me Ackee to order every morning as I am vegan. My room was also very clean and it's size was ideal. The A/C was in good working order too. Props to housekeeping who work so quickly and who are very lrofessional and kind. I'd also like to make a special mention about the beverage people who restock the fridge with soft drinks. This was a nice touch. The range of drinks available was of a good number, and all the bar staff were always jovial and welcoming. Restaurant staff were generally pleasant.
