Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsNothing really. Only the shower became cold after ~10-15 mins, but that forces you to not shower longer than needed
Calm and idyllic environment, optional breakfast, nice pool to relax, close to all major villages, beaches and hotspots in the south part of Puglia (including. Lecce). Further, great tips for activities and hotspots shared by the host. Tip: traditional mini supermarket and sandwich shop (called Alimentari Italia) with a helpful owner close by (max 2 min drive by car)

United KingdomNothing to say here. Space left blank on purpose.
Absolutely perfect. Masseria Petrusella is a gem in an already magical Salento. The hotel design, rooms and facilities are exceptional but no match with the hospitality of the family. Special highlight to Chef Rafaella's :) home cooked breakfast and traditional dinner was special and truly unforgettable. An Italian home away from home, it's a no brainer if you're planning to visit Puglia.

NetherlandsWe stayed for 4 nights at Masseria Petrusella and it was wonderful. The room was very light and spacious and the whole property was so beautiful and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast made by Rafaela every morning as well as the swimming pool with our daughter. She also really loved the swing hanging in the olive tree and ofcourse the sweet dog and cat ;) On our last evening we had a typical Puglian dinner at the property at sunset. It was magical! There are also very good restaurants in the area and you are close to nice beaches and cities. We loved everything! Thank you so much and we would love to come back some day.

LithuaniaEspecially wonderful apartments. Cozy interior and thoughtful details. A wonderful place for those who want nature and quiet. Everything is taken care of, it feels like all is newly furnished. Cozy spaces both outside and inside. Amazingly tasty and abundant breakfast, everything is prepared fresh: juice, scrambled eggs, pastries. I would be happy to stay at this place again and for a longer period of time. The host was very nice and helpful. Wonderful place!

United KingdomThere were so many things to love about this Masseria: the beautiful, tranquil location and property; the kindness of the host family and all the staff; the refreshing swimming pool; the lovely breakfast; gorgeous cats (and dog) that we fell in love with; Giuggianello, which was in walking distance and offered a nice place to get an evening drink, a wonderful fish restaurant, a pizzeria, and anything you might need at the alimentazione; the proximity to glorious places like Otranto, Baia dei Turchi, Lecce and the many many villages and towns around it. I could go on...We stayed for 9 nights (three of us, including an 8 year old boy) and felt like we were in our own home. We had everything we needed, were very comfortable in our air conditioned space, with comfy beds, fridge and kitchenette and rooms which were cleaned daily. Most importantly, Gianmarco and his lovely family were so friendly and catered to anything we needed. Thank you for the memorable holiday!

Australiawe were absolutely blown away by our stay at Masseria Petrusella. Gian Marco thought of every last detail to make our birthday stay special. We arranged a private typical Apulian dinner for our group, made by the wonderful chef Rafaela, and they surprised us with a pasta making class beforehand! It was outstanding. The grounds are stunning, the pool area is incredible, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the local tips for the area were top-notch. I would recommend a stay here in a heartbeat and will hopefully return soon myself too. Thank you, Gian Marco!

AustraliaNot much to not like but pool area needs more shade - umbrellas. Car parking also had no shade. Extra bed pillows would also be appreciated.
Lovely big clean room with great shower and well equipped kitchenette. Nice salt water pool. Very friendly and helpful owner, Gian Marco, and staff, especially Rafaella. Great breakfast.

SpainVery limited number of things for breakfast. Beds could be a bit more comfy. Having a swimming pool, they should have towels for it. Elements in the room could be improved.
Environment and room buildings are nice, place is really quiet so you can enjoy a lot of relax. Swimming pool is good. Room with kitchen is convenient.

NetherlandsThe hot tub was not hot (reading now reviews on the internet I see the problem has been there for long). There were workers installing the pavement around the pool, cutting tiles and having the radio on early in the morning (at around 7am). It was not the most pleasant start into the day, we asked twice the owner to start a bit later (8ish): next day again at 7am then finally the last two days at 8am. The owner replied on the defensive side “there are works everywhere”, “what shall I do”. we have been offered to change room for the last two nights, this would have not solved the problem. so, both for the hot tub and the workers I think the owner should have told us in advance and given us the opportunity to potentially choose another accomodation somewhere else. On top, basically no willingness to somehow compensate. I have asked and have been told “what do you want me to do”. the owner is a good person and you can see it, but he is missing hospitality experience. I suggest to go on different vacation and see what “hospitality” means. Example: oil, salt and cleaning stuff can be provided / a welcome gift (bottle of wine?) can be offered. This would make the experience better. It’s a lack of experience and understanding (for now). pity, because the place is wonderful.
the masseria is located in the middle of Salento, with the longest distance by car being approx 45/50 minutes - great strategic location! very clean rooms, congrats to how you keep them very neat and tidy.

Czech Republic- Although the accommodation in total is really nice, the main problem was that we got different accommodation unit than we booked and payed for. I am not able to write a review on apartment Superior because I've seen it only in the pictures on Booking.com. Judging from the pictures on Booking, we've been accommodated in the apartment Standard which is half the size of the Superior. After we arrived, we told the owner about it, however he insisted we got what we payed for. He told us that he gave us something called "Junior", which wasn't (and isn't) a category on Booking, and what should be "the same as Superior". No refunds or other compensations offered. The owner told us we could go to the roof of the unit (a plain area without furniture, shade or anything else...) and that we can check his website that the "Junior" is the same as Superior. Let me take the liberty to mark the argument "check my website" as absolutely invalid - I made the reservarvation via Booking so I expect to get what I booked there, not something existing only on a website I didn't know about (and which is obviously different). In the end - I don't drive 2000 km to argue but it is all about principle. When I order Ferrari, I expect Ferrari, not Mercedes. - The clothes horse was common with the other accommodation unit so it was sometimes difficult to dry your towel, swimmsuit or other garments because there was no room left on it. - There were only two outdoor chairs for three people so we had to bring the indoor furniture outside. - One of the mattresses was uncomfortable, one end (for head) was slightly lower than the other one. - The wifi doesn't reach the accommodation unit. When I came closer to the source, it didn't work.
+ The surroundings of the accommodation are beautiful. The accommodations itself is located in large well-maintained garden. Given the isolation from the town it is also really calm. + Private parking. + The room was perfectly clean and newly furnished. + The maid is a really lovely lady who is attentive and keeps everything nice and clean. + Mosquito netting in the windows and AC.
